My Mom has passed away. My wife's birthday, my birthday, Mothers Day and our anniversary all come up within a three week span, so we usually pick Mother's Day to get everyone together and celebrate it all on one day. There is usually no shortage of food, drink and good times. It works good for us.

Same with my husbands family. It’s a big old celebration.

I think it's a good thing. The kids have kind of taken it over with the planning & cooking. Maybe an old south tradition carried forward?
Hope all is well with you Picc.

It is sweet of him, especially if they have very young kids. Don’t underestimate the power of changing all the diapers, handling messes, meals, meltdowns, nap time, bedtime routine and allowing your wife to take it easy. There is no taking it easy when you’re in the phase of young children, so yes, it is very nice of him.

Not at all what I meant. Typically, one of us will cook and the other will do dishes. On mother's and birthdays I'll do both.
One of us will usually bathe the kid and the other will clean up the mess. This Sunday, I'll do both.
That kind of small stuff.

My wife gets the same thing every year now.
Homemade card from our daughter and a glass rose for every year since she was born. Its a nice little tradition now and WAY easier on me.
Soon enough my daughter will have the Amazon password and can order the rose herself every year. Its the thought that counts, right?
We usually trade years taking our mothers to lunch since her's live out of town.

I think so. It’s a little too much to ask to have 5 birthday parties and then a Mother’s Day gathering within a couple weeks of one another!
All is well. Looking forward to the weekend with the family sans homeschool and work at home. Same to you

I am surprised at this post by you......
My mother passed in 2000. Devastating for me at that point. However, m wife is the mother of m child and she has been more of a rock than me. It’s important to me that I make sure she sees that. It’s not that big a deal to her(so she says), but I always try do do something nice for her. Even more than Valentine’s Day.

Sorry about your mom, I’m sure Mother’s Day is particularity hard for those who’s moms have passed. I can only imagine. As a mom I would much rather celebrate Mother’s Day than valentines, hands down. Valentines is more fun for the kids.
And why would you be surprised by this post from me?

I should probably clarify, I buy the gifts for my son to give to her.
