Really how?? Please explain... American Airlines is not responsible for watching her children at the gate.

If they let this disrupt any flights that's on them. That's all I meant. There's no reason some chick throwing one keyboard in a giant airport ought to disrupt much of anything.

Seems a little excessive, TBH. I know this isn't a civil matter, but can we at least ask what the real damages are here?

Aggravated Battery: Hitting someone in the face with a computer monitor, causing injury.
Criminal Mischief: Damaging said computer.
Disorderly Conduct: While only a class C misdemeanor (at least in Texas) generally covers any foolishness that causes a disturbance, panic, or alarm in a public place.

All 3 charges fit perfectly.

The AA worker needs to get some of that McDonalds training.

I especially like it when he is (probably) asking "would you like some more of that" and she must have said "yes" cause he starts beating them again.

Traveling from Birmingham, AL to New York City, NY by way of Miami, FL. Gotta love it.

Took a wrong turn at Albuquerque.

Clearly her devoted husband of 7 years was tending to the kids!

Her husband must communicate better for a more fulfilling marriage.

Yeah that's a weird flight connection.. Especially considering AA has daily flights from Birmingham to ATL & Charlotte to NYC

know this is about to get downvoted to hell, and I’m not defending her actions in throwing the computer and causing that whole scene but…

Is it possible in this day and age to have a little empathy for her? Flying with kids is very stressful, clearly they were running into issues and late (missed their scheduled flight), that adds a ton more stress.

She’s super stressed and exhausted, is trying to deal with the airlines and her kids disappear… I see how that could lead to a strong emotional outburst, shouldn’t have done the damage she did, but I don’t think this makes her some kind of terrible person, she was stressed

How about NOT having kids you can't clothe, feed, or fly with without outside assistance. My wife managed to travel through 4 continents with our 2 young daughters while I was in the military without out losing them or assaulting airline employees. But, for the record, we are not black.

I don’t know why they are charging her, because they won’t do her anything in the long run.

Seems like we never de-escalate a situation anymore.

Did you see someone escalating the situation besides the woman? Seems like everyone stepped back and let her act like an animal. If you're against people escalating things, you should be against her behavior.

I was just thinking everyone could calm down and act like an adult, I guess.

The only person not acting like an adult was her. Why do you blame everyone else but her?

It is aggravated battery by any reasonable reading of the law.

So then she's being properly charged and you want her under charged.

Couple of years ago I did Dallas-Atlanta-Seattle. Weird flying East for a West Bound destination.

Going by the book, the charges are 100% justified.

As a thinking human being, though, I think Disorderly Conduct is what I would have gone with.

At least the cops didn't use any of that "terroristic threats" crap. Small favors, I guess...
Stop defending this piece of trash. Its not like she just raised her voice and kicked over a trash can. Bitch went on a rampage destroying computers and throwing them at employees. Probably made a bunch of people miss flights as well
