Gays were able to frick before they could get married. I’m saying the legal act of gays getting married will not result in society accepting incest.

Ever heard of sodomy laws?

2. We talking about children, not adults now?

Children, like a son or daughter.

if you had to guess, do you think the offspring or the parent is initiating the sex the majority of the time?

I didn't see the question. Took a break

You're creating a fictional scenario, I'm telling you alcohol kills and ruins so many families, millions. Why shouldn't alcohol be illegal, not based on fictional scnearios but real tangible families that are broken by alcohol?

That's a personal choice from a consenting adult to ingest alcohol. I actually think all drugs should be legal and regulated.

I think a parent taking advantage of their position as a nurturer and authority figure of a child to have a sexual relationship with them is not consent.

A 15 year old or 26 year old son or daughter? I think that's what the person was asking..

Parent. I see where you're going with this, same as Caterpillar, see my alcohol reference as a rebuttal.

You don't get breaks on incest discussions!!!

Ever see stats on kids coming from families where 1 of the parents are alcoholics? It's really not much different(but yet again, real) than your fictional scenario you laid out about the parent putting the incest in the kid's head.

And a drunk parent ruins kids and families too, do they not?

Logically, they shouldn't. I'm not sure what you're trying to convey here.

Yes, gay acts were viewed the same way incest was a few decades ago. Who's to say that incest won't be legal in 20 years?

The child would probably rather have the drunk parent over the one trying to have sex with them

You realize it was an illegal act not that long ago correct? Hell, in Britain they chemically castrated you or put you in prison as recent as the 50s and 60s

I think you need to do some research

You're missing the point.

I said gay marriage being legal will not make society more accepting of incest.

Then I pointed out that as gays are being more accepting over the last 50 years, incest has actually become less so. The laws reflect that.

They are trending in different directions.

The child would rather neither, THAT is my point. So why, if you're pro incest being illegal, would you not be pro-alcohol being illegal?

So we should ban relationships where one person is a lot older than the other?

Cuz, I know some gay couples where there are 30 years apart and one is the "nurturer and authority figure".

I read it, and I think the alcohol rebuttal is a poor one.

let me ask you this, do you think that parent should at least be held accountable legally for incestous behavior?

I understand what you're saying, on the surface, about it being 2 adults consenting to sex. But do you not think there is stuff that leads up to that point through childhood? Or at least opens a door to potential indecency? Do you think a 26 year old wakes up one morning and decides he wants to frick his mom?
