i grew up in a big italian family that allowed a glass of wine at age of 16 or so. I know that not all people that drink alcohol are alcoholics. I read the beer thread on the food board and know that there are a large volume of people that drink alcohol without abusing it
Did you read the stuff I posted?

If so, how'd you read it and NOT realize all those facts were children of alcoholics, not children of parents who have a drink here and there? Did you really not comprehend that part?

FWIW, the stuff you said that I just quoted is entirely irrelevant to anything I said, so I'm not sure why you mentioned it.

im aware of the problems of alcoholism. Had you picked a better example for comparison I would actually engage you. But you're in a different stratosphere, shel.

Hey, look at that. I wonder what you're doing in this thread, surely not the same exact thing, right?

Back to back shots taken at people. LE's losing his cool, it's funny to see it happen in real time.

So you knew your Italian glass of wine at 16 example had literally nothing to do with what I was pointing out, but you brought it anyway?

Seems like a strange thing to do.

His logic makes no sense at all, to be honest.

Incest should be illegal because he thinks it would make people molest children.

I gave him a list of actual facts of what alcoholism does to children. Nah, terrible comparison.

We can use LE's logic about "sick fricks supporting incest" and say that LE supports increasing suicide risk in kids by 85%, that SICK frick!!!

IDK, who says it only works in the case of incest?
LOL. OK. Why does it work for incest but not in all cases where the government doesn't step in?

I said 100%? can you link that?

You said

I mean are we really going to act like all of a sudden 2 adult relatives decide to just frick one another?
Are you now backtracking? Are you saying that in fact the above CAN happen?

oh look, another blanket statement. Yes, cause every law is the same and i think the same thing regarding every law!!!!11 rah rah rah blah blah blah!!!!
I don't think you know what the term blanket statement means.

His logic........

"Not having a law on adult incest equals "encouraging" child incest(which would still be illegal)."

"People don't wake up as adults wanting to frick their mom"............"but, apparently, sometimes they do because it is wrong to say he means that 100% of the time".

Logic? He isn't even vaguely familiar with "logic".

Oh, but you see........he applies "logic" on a "case by case" basis.

That makes him soooooo smart.

Not sure, not my job to come up with one, but that isnt it. The main problem is that not everyone who drinks alcohol is an alcoholic & suffers from alcoholism.

So disallowing alcohol is much more of a gray area. You can find proponents on each side. But when it comes to incest, the very people that admit it is sick & disgusting are using government as their platform to legalize it.

They can't address the actual act. They want to address the "freedom of adults to do what they want". Without considering the how it can affect kids. There are no positives to gain from legalizing incest outside of "freedom". There are positives to keeping alcohol legal. Yes, it affects kids when parents choose to abuse it. But that is not everyone who drinks.

In the end, it's clear this is more of blanket political issue for them.

He's basically making a ton of blanket statements, claiming others are making blanket statements, then making personal attacks when called on his blanket statements, while backtracking off of his blanket statements.

Everyone who commits incest does it with children?

100% or not? Man, you really need to make up your mind on this 100% thing.

Who is "they?" Pretty sure everyone you're arguing with in this thread has addressed it probably 5-10 times.

So again, 100% of the incest folks are doing it with children?

1. Are you not going to clarify? Pretty telling.

2. Is that "all" I got? I gave you more, most of which you haven't touched or responded to my requests, despite me obliging yours.

Is that all I got he says. Funny stuff. I'm wondering about your reading comprehension in this thread, maybe your just skipping or skimming posts to ask "is that all I got" when you've ignored way more.

You came up with the terrible comparison. I said that from the jump. Ive tried to go with the premise but there is nothing there that wants me to dive into that deeply. They just arent relatable

You're going to actually try and tell me straight up that this doesn't insinuate exactly that:

I mean are we really going to act like all of a sudden 2 adult relatives decide to just frick one another?
So you really are going to act like 2 adult relatives sometimes decide to just frick one another?

Again, i am of the belief that adults that engage in incest are influenced as children by their relative in the power position. Whether they actually are committing incest with them as children is unknown. The older relative is planting the seed, so to speak. We know that 1 of every 3 child abuse situations go unreported. I am of the belief that no grown adult just wakes up one morning and wants to frick an older relative. There is a seed planted way before that.

If you disagree with any of that, please copy and paste and address it. If you want to argue semantics about some made up percentage, im out.
