$27,500 for a brand new 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer on Christmas Eve 2004. This was a couple of years after I graduated college. I still drive it, and I still remember paying $532.20 a month for it for five years. I haven’t had a vehicle payment in over ten years.

Why does everything you buy have to be an investment? Do you never buy things because you want them, or because they bring you joy?

Looked into it, but the tires aren’t cheep on a 16 x 16 all wheel drive vehicle, being able to tow a space shuttle up Mount Everest is kinda cool though.

32k, but 10k of it came from insurance totaling my previous vehicle.

I will say this, im never buying a new car ever again. Well unless somehow i win the lottery and need to spend the money before I die. Outside of that it's a total waste of money.

To answer the OP, it was around 55k. I don't remember the exact amount, it's a Lincoln Aviator and we enjoy it.

I drive a 10 year old Jeep that I paid 25k for, won't upgrade it until there is a decent supply of the new Broncos, so probably in a couple years.

Agreed.

Most of us are willing to overspend (when necessary) for something we really want, whether it’s a brand new car or an expensive steak. Life would be pretty boring if you didn’t splurge on something here and there.

27k on a 1991 Mitsubishi 3000GT.
Still to this date that's the most I've ever spent on a vehicle.

$27k. Only spent that much because I bought new instead of the expensive used stuff

Same. $27k a couple years ago on a new vehicle that was the previous year's edition still on the lot. Paid in full, though!

Dropped $64k out the door on a 2017 Shelby GT350.

Traded it for an M340 in January. $10k difference.

If I have garage space, I'd buy another used GT350. It's just not an everyday driver.

There's a Ferrari I always see at my local golf course I frequent that's 3 minutes from my house.

The Ferrari has a personalized license plate that reads, "IMPOOR" and every time I see it I just think, what an a-hole but I'm jealous of that a-hole

Because of the depreciation hit you take the moment you drive off the lot. Vehicles are horrible investments, vehicle.

Constantly harping on how cars are "investments" is just odd. When I'm buying a car, driving a car at any point in time, I never once think of my car as an investment as there is no reason to do so.

45k for a F150 KR in 2013. Just passed 160k on it and hoping to get over 200k.
