I was speaking more about the over the top excess and cartoonish image that dominated it though. The same can be said about the current state of hip hop.
I agree with this. I loathed the entire glam rock phase and hated the culture of hair metal.
You could however tune into pop stations until '95 or so and hear decent songs once in a while. The internet changed the model dramatically.

That entire list is garbage.
Much like all overproduced soulless BS that is pushed by these corporations across all product markets. Straight to Hell with the stupid F'ing people who just suck it up.
I want Miles Davis to rise from the dead and strike down all of these imposters down with his fury. He would not suffer this crap at all.

All of the lyrics from those rappers all have a common theme.....But no one calls them out for "inciting violence"
No cause they don't want to admit it...

Actually, as long as we’re talking post-Bon Scott, those are the exact bands I’d name if you asked me which bands from the 70s/80s were soulless
Guess that’s why they make chocolate and vanilla. Out of curiosity name me a platinum selling artist who you think checks the soulful box from the last say 30 years. RHCP w/ JF maybe?

Post Malone and Taylor swift have legit talent. The rest suck arse.
I like some modern hip hop too. Roddy Ricch and Travis Scott are very good.

They have weird ways of showing it by making shitty music with their armies of producers and writers

Shows you why the media and companies act like black people are 75% of the US population even though they’re only 13%.
