I’ve heard one or two songs by four of them, nothing from the other six.

Proudly I implore you to get off my lawn.

Pretty great representation of why we have such a soft and failing culture in America.

How many on that list no longer have a pulse?

The only people I knew on that list was weekend, drake, tswift, and post Malone.

I know Juice Wrld because he’s dead but none of his music.

I listed the entire list to my 14 yo son and he corrected me on the names I mispronounced because he knew them all and confirmed 3 of them as dead.

List is legit I guess.

I think Spotify gives a lot of voices to music us old people have never heard or care to hear.

I’ve never opened pandora or Spotify with the idea of exploring new music. I know what I want and stream that.

Uh, yeah. No. That doesn't work at all considering all of the crap that was going on in the country while rock was emerging onto the scene. In the 1960s you had the reaction to the Civil Rights movement, LBJ's Great Society, and Vietnam all going on at the exact same time. Those three events had more to do with the decline of our culture than rock and roll.

Hip Hop has done far more damage than rock and roll ever could.

I saw 2 names I recognized. Even though he be daid, I though I’d see “The Last Mr. Bigg” on that list. I got long hairruh, got a pocket full of stones....

I've only heard songs by Taylor Swift but I couldn't name one of them off the top of my head if you paid me.

This is because all of the white teenage girls are listening to music on YouTube and not Spotify.

I do regularly, but I’m Gen X. I’d rather listen to “Reminiscing” on loop all day than any of that trash.

Hurry, don't be late, I can hardly wait
I said to myself when we're old
We'll go dancing in the dark
Walking through the park and reminiscing

I'm not a boomer either. Not even close actually. The vast majority of rap music sucks though.

Songs as vulgar as wap have been around for decades. This thread is the epitome of the get off my lawn meme.

Weird, I liked some of his music that I stumbled upon a few months ago but had no idea he was dead until I saw this

Guess I won't be waiting on the new album

You’re good. Rappers drop albums for years after they die.

I love this thread

Find me a single point in time that old people did not find the music that young people listened to as evidence of moral decline

Hint: It doesn’t exist
