Most liberal cities in the South

Somewhat of a spinoff from the Starbucks MAGA hat incident in California ... in your opinion, what are the most fundamentally liberal cities in the South? They don't necessarily have to be a "major city" or the state's capital, any city shall suffice.
Also, for this question, ignore strictly demographics that make the city predominately blue.
Asheville? New Orleans seems to have a major liberal conglomerate. Any artistic city will have as such. I know Jackson, demographically, is very democratic (and not really the point of my post), but the Fondren neighborhood appears to attract true bleeding hearts.
ETA: Austin, TX

Austin has to be up there. I'd say New Orleans too.

Yeesh. Completely forgot that in my initial post. Asheville was the one to immediately pop into my head,

I think one of your answers will have to be Austin

Asheville is Portland, OR level of liberal.
Its a great city otherwise though.

Any city in the south is fairly tolerant of both sides.

I see a lot of people are listing Jackson/Memphis and places like that
I see a big difference between majority Black Democrat and Liberal
I don’t see Jackson as very liberal at all

Fondren is definitely your artsy fartsy bleeding heart neighborhood. But what's it got outside a handful of expensive restaurants and whole foods?
Agreed tho, there is a difference between black democrat and your typical stuck up liberal.

I agree. And that's why I said to ignore the cities that are blue strictly for demographics (Memphis, Jackson, Birmingham). However, I added the Fondren neighborhood of Jackson because in my limited time there, I noticed it was a very liberal neighborhood.
Athens? Oxford, MS?
