A parachute not opening...that's a way to die. Getting caught in the gears of a combine...having your nuts bit off by a Laplander, that's the way I wanna go.

This happened to a neighbor from the house behind the one I grew up in. He was cleaning his guns in his bedroom. 5 year old boy was in the room and the gun accidentally went off killing the boy. The man fell to the ground crying and the wife came in the room. He told her what happened. He grabbed another gun and then blew his own head off.

Damn. That poor woman. She lost her baby and her husband all because he forgot the first rule of cleaning a weapon, clear it and keep the muzzle toward the floor until you do so.

Nobody I knew but driving down Hwy 30 to work in the mid 1980's there was a cement truck on its side and some sort of sedan that was as flat as could be. The cement truck rolled over it. There was a family of seven inside if I remember right, and I think an infant may have survived somehow.

My father slipped and fell in his bathroom, smashing his head against the toilet and splitting it open. He was knocked out for 30+ minutes. When he came to he tried to stop the bleeding with a washrag, laid down on his bed, and bled to death...he had a BAC of .38

I went to the Super Chevy Show near Atlanta when I was 11 years old and they had a jet-powered dragster race. One of the drivers had some type of failure and it caused him to swerve into the far right barrier of the strip and the car imploded instantly. The car sat there and burned with him in it while the entire grandstand watched because the fire crew ran over their hose nozzle and couldn't get it put out. That is about all the detail I recall, but I distinctly remember the sound of the magnesium frame popping and melting because the jet fuel burned so hot.

I didn't know the guy personally, but I did meet him and get his autograph earlier that weekend.

The 17 yr old son of a guy a work with was murdered by two other 17 yr olds from his school...over a girl. They lured him to the school pretending to be her, strangled/suffocated him, then tried to bury the body. Got caught burying the body. Will both be tried as adults in the near future...unbelievable.

I didn't know him, but definitely the guy that went missing from that building in Baton Rouge several years ago..Cameras show him going into the building but never leaving..He just jumped off the top of the roof and was found in the tree next to the building. Whoa.

I guess I have another one. this is someone Ive never met but its just someone one of my friends knows. maybe three or four months ago I was at my house talking to my friend watching TV. we saw one of those class action lawsuits about people who worked in asbestos or something. we starting talking about how the two things that freak us out are cancer and aneurisms cause both of those can just come and theres nothing you can do about it. he then told me how a girl he went to high school with was diagnosed with this weird type of breast cancer that they have no cure for, but it usually takes about 20 years to kill the person. I think he said she was like 17 when diagnosed with it. unless something happens, she has to live with the fact that she wont make it past her mid to late 30s and theres nothing she can do about it

That's weird.

My fiancee's cousin(male) is engaged. Early February this year his fiancee goes to the Dr. thinking she has bronchitis. They end up diagnosing her with Stage 4 Adrenal Cancer. Apparently, the symptoms are pretty much nonexistent, slight weight gain in the face being one, until its advanced and too late.

They just got married in the hospital two days ago. She will probably die this weekend. My wedding is next weekend. Its a real mind frick.

Not someone I know, but someone my parents knew (and who my mom babysat for) just got killed in a double murder by their next door neighbor.

I actually heard it was national news.

My fiancee again with the bad luck. Outside of babysitting for someone whose husband died in 9/11, and going to high school with a kid who died at Va Tech, she knew a girl whose brother and mother were killed during a home robbery by some drifter dude. Brother was asleep on the couch and never knew what hit him. Guy stole a laptop.

That's not bad compared to other cancers where you only have a couple years at best. Plenty of time for them to come up with better treatments assuming she is still pretty young

Eta: still scary and frick cancer

Two brothers cruising on their bikes one afternoon. A large tree branch fell in front of them. Neither could stop. One was killed instantly the other survived. The one who lived asked if his brother was okay as soon as he came out of surgery.

This is some Final Destination type shite.
