Didn't I read in one of the flood books
Clive Cussler wrote a book, Flood Tide where his character Dirk Pitt, foiled an evil plot to sink an ocean liner in the Mississippi river, and destroy the ORCS diverting it.

Well add that to the 20,000 barges and everyone below is safe.
Posted on 12/30/15 at 9:33 pm to Martini
People have no earthly idea what 20,000 barges would look like.
Each one is approx 200' x 35'
That's 140,000,000 feet of barges

What's that subdivision on River road that had all of the sand boils? The one near Farr Park.
Posted on 12/30/15 at 9:39 pm to Btrtigerfan
Riverbend. And as I've said before there is a reason Highland Road is named Highland Road.

What's the reason?
Haha, just kidding. I know it is because that's where everybody smokes dope for the first time.
Seriously though, how fricked are we?

The last pic is roughly a quarter mile away from the Steak and Shake.

You people actually think that the O&G money and corrupt LA politicians wouldn't sink every available barge on the MS River to save the cash flowing in that River?? What a silly idea KR..... Barges will be sinking and sheet piles will be getting beat down if it comes down to it guys.

If I'm looking for an antonym I would have gone with perspicacious. That would make the reader think now that is judicious and insightful. He is pretty clever and canny.
Like the poster above pointing out the flood is a quarter mile from the Steak and Shake. That was subtle yet quick witted.
And my sister in St Louis said it so far is worse than she has seen it in 30 years and they anticipate more precipitation.

Pics of sister to determine if the OT needs to mount a rescue operation.
