Because his fanbase are white rednecks. Cant get cancelled by the people who probably talk like you do.

I am amazed someone is popular enough to warrant a 20 page thread on TD and I don't know a single song. I do know who he is, though.

Same here

I'm guessing he is popular with teen white girls, who are also the leaders in cancel culture.

Not in a racist way at all. Black people that know him came to his defense. Those saying he was unknown before that are pretty clueless.

He was using it within the context of “you’re my bff”.

it was the soft 'a' colloquialism like most black people use it when talking to one of their chums.

it wasn't a slur.

I love country music but not really a fan of Luke Bryan. His stuff is so cheesy and he’s one of those “yell the name of the city or stadium during a song” guys. I hate that.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — In his first interview in six months, disgraced country star Morgan Wallen said it was ignorant of him to use a racial slur.

During an interview with Michael Strahan on ABC’s “Good Morning America” on Friday, Wallen said he didn’t use it in a derogatory manner, but it was still wrong.

Wallen was already one of the genre’s biggest stars, with crossover hits like “Whiskey Glasses,” when the video was posted on TMZ in February. Wallen previously apologized for using the slur and radio stations and streaming services temporarily dropped him from playlists, but his album sales surged.
