Why would you spend so much energy bitching about this problem when you could instead put that same energy towards capitalizing on the problem? There is obviously a market that is not being satisfied, take advantage.

Or an even better solution: black parents could teach their children how to 1) read and 2) enjoy reading. There is no market demand for black characters or black culture because they are the one demographic that is least likely to enjoy reading (or even be able to read) at any age. This would lead to more black people growing up to become authors and those in turn will write more books which will encourage more black children to read.
Black culture devalues education and intelligence from womb to grave; this isn't on whitey.

There just is absolutely no notable demand for reading material in that community. It's like someone getting in a huff because there aren't more rappers (real rap, not pop). Sure some white people listen to and enjoy rap, but the producer's target audience and the one which will consume 99% of their product is the black community.
