This is a great line. Also, bringing up Abe Lincoln was a nice touch. Also, didn't MLK beat his wife or something? I could be thinking of someone or something else. Either way, people have flaws. You can't just erase history of all flawed people without losing all of your history.

Spot on.
There is a lot of selective double standard reasoning and, in some instances, just bold ignorance with this wave of historical cleansing.
I find it troubling when there are instances of book burning or statue toppling because someone does not agree with certain viewpoints and/or modern principles are applied to judge individuals from generations ago. You can still disagree or judge the individual without removing the historical work. There appears to be a movement to wipe out any remembrance or symbol of a past or alternative view. It is quite intolerant.

Unfortunately, this seems to be the growing norm. If you don't agree with these people's views, you're tagged a racist. I think Moon, Jr. had other motives when he brought the idea of statue removal to life.
