So what you're saying is that you're 30 years old and spend all day playing video games in your moms basement (except for when you visit Disneyworld in full costume).

I don’t have a problem saying I enjoy playing video games

I’m 40 with one child and am more successful than 99% of the people in this country so I don’t need to worry about how someone on a message board projects his inadequacies.

I’ll never understand the antagonism towards video games as a medium. We’ve come a long way from feeding quarters into a Space Invaders cabinet.

I don’t have a problem with either as long as they work for a living to feed their addictions

I play video games and I work full time. It's not mutually exclusive.

The 80s and 90s are over. Video games aren't a "kids" toy anymore, unless your kids are playing Saints Row and God of War (which they shouldn't be).

Older adults see it as a child's activity, which is fair since it used to be. But, those kids from the 80s and 90s grew up.

There are games today that are clearly for adults. Kids shouldn't be playing Grand Theft Auto.

And even separated from “adult content”, there are modern games that are incredible story telling mediums.

This. So much this. I love playing online video games, but nothing anywhere is more cringe than playing furries. Ever. If you RP a furry, you suck at life. Period. The end.

Great point. That too.

I still enjoy the hell out of Galaga and Pac-man but the landscape is just a tad different now.

Some people are stuck in a perpetual childhood.

It’s a problem.

adults who regularly play videogames are kinda odd too

Once upon a time in college I completed Grand Theft Auto Vice City 100%. Every mission, collectible, side quest, etc. Everything. I wish I still had my PS2 so I could see how many hours I put into it to clear it. Hell I was like in year 26 on my NCAA Dynasty with LSU. Free time was a beautiful thing.

Certain games require hours, especially now. Fallout 76 is a great example of this. I miss the days where you had a quality story you could play through and enjoy yourself with.

Don’t they clog up the meet the characters event as well. If so then them. I’m sure waiting in line so you kid can meet Snow White is boring but it would be INFURIATING if a large part of the wait was 40 yr olds wanting a picture as well.

Adult Disney fan alone at Disney World.

Saw one guy eating lunch alone while we were eating an overpriced Disney meal….. Put it this way. You’d never let him watch your kids for a date night with the wife. And seeing the FBI kick in his door and only leave with his laptop and similar devices would not shock you.

I'm an adult who collects action figures so I have no room to judge.
