Supposed to go down there for a final interview in couple weeks. Question what’s the cost of real living and what are the most available rental homes/condos. I’m afraid this move is going to make me poor at first until get settled

Where I’m at now I’m very lucky as I pay flat rate for all home expenses (utility television, trash, etc) plus have free reign to 40 acres of land.

A lot cheaper than austin proper and only going to go up in value.

In 5-10 years austin and San Antonio will be a metroplex like Dallas/ft. Worth.

I live in Kyle but am moving back to BR and my house is for sale! This is a great place to live, you'll love it. I've been here over 5 years and am moving back just to be closer to all of my family.

Rent-wise, Kyle and Buda are cheaper. San Marcos is growing too fast and so rents are higher.

Cost of living is low. HEB in every town.

If you want quick backdoor access to Austin, live in Buda near 1626, and then you take Brodie or Manchaca on into town. 1626 also gets you to Kyle quickly without having to do I-35. And from there, you can get to SM via Old Stagecoach and Post.
