More Bankruptcies and Layoffs, but Truck and Boat Dealerships

Can't keep inventory on their lots. How does this make any sense at all? Dealerships certainly aren't hurting and not willing to budge. Can't blame them if people continue buying them out of inventory in this supposed economic downturn. I swear we're living in the twilight zone.

Truth. We bought a Tacoma a few weeks ago. The local dealer had no interest in selling a truck. Could not get a call back or info on the truck . I guess they didn’t need a sale.

Because the people currently laid off never were the ones buying new trucks & boats.

Talked to a buddy who’s family owns a local boat dealership. He says not only can’t they keep an $80,000 boat on the lot, but people are now bidding thousand of dollars above the retail price! It’s insane!

Boat prices are rising so fast used boats are selling close to their retail the year they were made, its crazy, the baws are financing new ones for 20 years

I think people are realizing the value of enjoying life and time with the family and taking advantage. Doing housework/fixing up their houses, putting in pools, buying boats, buying dream cars, buying an RV to travel, etc.
Boredom leads to shopping, and people aren’t wasting money on sporting events, restaurants, movies, etc

I've noticed this too. My truck was totaled during a hail storm several months ago and no dealerships really even gave a shite whether I bought a truck from them or not.
Also, I was wanting to buy a used pontoon boat and every boat that I would find on Facebook Marketplace for around $10,000 would sell within the hour it was listed.

My weekends used to consist of LSU on Saturdays and Saints on Sundays. Now it's going to be LSU on Saturdays and boating/fishing with the family on Sundays.
