I posted a couple of weeks ago about getting diagnosed with ocd. In learning more about it it's manifesting currently in the form of moral scrupulosity. Anybody deal with this directly or indirectly? It's been a struggle for several days to not let it blow up my life.

The older I get the more I realize how big of pussies most people are.

What does that have to do with his post?
So, nothing? Got it.

I think everyone needs to shut up and chill out for like 72 hours.

Even if you arent Catholic, I highly recommend looking up Catholic resources on scrupulousity, its been around and discussed for a long time (in the Catholic case its related to Sacrament of Confession).

Perhaps if you deleted the lie about Auburn being a 9-time national champion in your profile you'd start to feel normal.

I've started working with clients with OCD using Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). Scrupulosity is really interesting to me and I'm curious how things go (and some others experiences).

I do.

Cognitive based therapy has been shown to help. There's even workbooks for it, like this one

Good luck. It sucks when you're always second-guessing yourself over everything.

He's insulting OP like a moron. Betcha he's nowhere near as badass as he thinks he is in real life.

Nothing screams "real life coward" like an anonymous badass.

Just go ahead and commit the immoral, evil, or unethical act, ya know, to establish a baseline. Then work on reeling it backward.

Not too familiar with the subject, but it sounds like meditation training that practices refocusing your mind on what you can touch, see, feel and hear (what is real), would be beneficial.

What you’re dealing with is a real thing. Don’t let the wisecracks of unserious people get to you. Find an ERP therapist and devote yourself to the work. Talk to God.

I'm not a badass at all. Just pointing out that as I get older I notice people are getting softer and softer. All kinds of mental issues. People need to go outside and do stuff. That would solve most of it.

Having OCD isn't "getting soft". This isn't the public perception of washing your hands too much. OCD has a significant genetic component as well and for most people symptoms start in childhood but becomes overwhelming later in life when they can't manage it anymore.
