Moral Question- Office Janitor

In my office we have a very sweet older lady who takes care of the janitorial needs. When she is taking out some of the larger bags I always either try and carry the bags or at least hold the door open. If I can't help I feel a little guilty.
Is it wrong to not help because that is her job, or is it wrong not to help because she is an older lady who might need some help.

The lady that cleans our offices is almost 90 years old, but she's still there 3 days a week. She doesn't try really to carry anything heavy, but whenever I see her come in the building, I go empty my trashcan in the dumpster.

If she is American you should help her. If she is not, push her down the stairs or trip her.

Well, that's just being courteous. I don't care if it's a trash bag or stack of accounting reports, if someone needs a hand with the door, you give them a hand.

I think that's great. Personally, I consider the janitor in our office "part of the team" and I see it as no different than helping anyone else in the office with a small favor if I have an opportunity to.

Incorrect. This "niceness" is actually a show of weakness. You're better than those beneath you and you need to exude that.

This shouldn't even be a question. If you see someone struggling you should help them if you can.

I'll usually throw the bag from the trash can in my office into the janitors big can on wheels when she passes by.
She's too old to be doing that and I don't even think twice about making things a little easier on her.

It's never a bad thing to do a good thing. Especially for an older lady.
