Interview there next week.
As far as housing options were this to work out.
Are there any decent options nearby?
Baytown?
Would prefer decent home in good neighborhood. Under $360k or so if possible.
Are there legit options?
Obviously, I understand Houston's nicer options are westside or north.

You do not want to live in Mt. B in my opinion. Find somewhere south of their off 146.

Maybe check out Crosby.

Plenty of options in Mont Belvieu itself. Not a huge baytown fan other than older baytown on the water. Belvieu north or south of "crawdads" gas station is cool.
Good luck!

Really anywhere is going to have some decent areas. Really matters on how far the OP wants to drive and what he wants around.

No. Not Baytown at least.
Great golf course in Mont Belvieu though.
I have a friend that lives in Baytown because he works in Mont Belvieu, he drives 30 minutes to enjoy any sort of night life.
I'd shoot for right down 146 in the Seabrook area.

I have family living south of I-10 and east of Baytown, closer to Cove. Their area is pretty nice and didn't flood in any of the recent storms.
For food you have Devillier's and Crawfish hideaway has really good boiled crawfish.

Yep. Hell, when I still lived/worked around H town, I lived in Katy and drove to work in Alvin.
Just part of it in Houston

Check out Goose Creek Reserve in Baytown. It’s the newest/nicest subdivision in Baytown. They are still building houses and have some available.

Doesn’t matter where. SE Texas is a concrete swamp regardless.
Btw, there is no “Mont”.

Great place... not sure now, but 3 or so years ago when I was still around there, housing was hard to come by and expensive because of schools and location. Love Seabrook, though.

Lynchburg if that's your thing.

I lived there as young kid back in the 80's. I recently visited. There are some options available. The area is ok. I'd recommend living further west near Atascocita or Humble, but if you're working in Mount Bellvieu that would create a drive for work.

Privateer, There are two aspects of living in SE Texas that I strongly recommend you do your "due diligence" on.
First there is the occurrence of subsidence. In Baytown a complete subdivision on the coast went underwater. Secondly, there is the issue of surface flooding. Everything to the north of SE Texas drains to the Gulf. Massive flooding can and does occur in some areas. Newer subdivisions are permitted with the streets designed as detention ponds. Fifty inches of rain occurred over the area during Hurricane Harvey. Massive flooding occurred along creeks and bayous and even along channelization which is used for drainage of stormwater. An official elevation certificate of your slab is a must and its up to you to ensure its adequate for what may come down the road. Real Estate people may or may not tell you of past flooding problems. Good luck on your search for a home.

I have done several pipeline projects in MB. I live in Kingwood. It is about a 40 minute commute.
The thing about MB is that it is all dependent on traffic with the plants and all the workers coming and going so before 7 AM and around 5 PM is nuts. Also, there is a major RR that basically cuts MB in half and half the time a train will cut off traffic off at the worst times.
The houses around the golf course are actually nice. The golf course is called Eagle Point. There are a select few areas in Baytown but honestly, I would steer clear of Baytown. You can also look into the areas South of Baytown going toward LaPorte and Kemah. You can also check out Dayton and Huffman.

Clear Lake is a badass place to live and you could get a very nice place under 360K. Short commute off freeways to work.
