How were they ever in danger of not surviving?

They almost didn’t have their life jackets on

That and they were black.

Had that happen in Orange Beach on a bachelor party. Those damn boats suck at handling waves.

I left the plug out of my Bass Cat for about 20 minutes before realizing I forgot to put it in... Didn't come even close to sinking.

Just seems weird...

So did the boat flip over or just fill up with water? How can they drown by the boat dock? Just float on a life jacket to shore.

I was confused and then I read

quote:

"Before we came out, he made us all put on the life jackets. And we was like, the babies didn't want to, but I'm thankful that they did"

And then it all made sense

I fished all day on my Triton TR21 with the plug out. Only thing I noticed was it was sluggish getting on plane until after loading and seeing water run out the open drain for 30 mins.

They don't know how lucky they were. Gordon Lightfoot was this close to writing a song about them.

I was on the Ouachita River the other day. This could have been me.

This hits home for me. I backed a boat into the water once without the plug in.

This article does not compute...

How does a boat flip with the plug out?

How far from the dock?
