Neighbor’s dog came running at us then other day and I had to step in between it and the stroller. Yappy little collie but you look at them much differently with your baby in a stroller and well within striking distance.

Was chased by three pit bulls in Arizona while riding down a dirt road on my bike just off a busy road. Little doubt they would have killed me if I hadn’t gotten away. They weren’t nipping at my legs they actually took a chunk from one of my shoes. I don’t pack on rides but have considered it. I do have mace but don’t think that would have done anything.

Mad respect to the posters who's first response to the thread is by far the best.

Terrible story. But I am not surprised at anything that happens in Walker County. You just never know what you are going to see next.

If one starts reading here:
quote:

Ruthie Brown, 36, who has four sons, was mauled by the animals Monday afternoon on Jagger Road in Nauvoo,

One would have an entirely different view of this story.

How would reading the story from the beginning change your view of it?

Sometimes stray dogs (of all breeds or mutty-ness) will form a pack and return to their wild ways. If the pack leader is bad, the others follow suit.

Nor have I. There is no Wake county in Alabama. There is one in North Carolina. She was from Alabama, but I'm guessing it happened in North Carolina and the OP got the Subject line wrong.

Then that is the one I am going to shoot first.

paging the resident pit bull apoligist..

Found him. Right here. I love pit bulls, including the couple I have rescued and owned over the last 20+ years.
