The only thing bleach will do is kill the surface mold, the landlord should know that.

You need to buy some something that will stop mold growth.

Can you still test for mold after bleach application? Landlord is trying to sweep it under the rug IMO.

Probably harmless but if you are worried, go get a mold test kit from Home Depot.

Spray bleach, let it sit until dry. Repeat and then wipe it down. Then, here is the key step, paint it Black and then the deadly mold will not be as obvious or visable.

Good luck and BTW, if this doesn't work out well for you, you have any cool knives I could have?

Nice! Just make a note somewhere.. But I think you'll make it.

How about pocket/hunting knives?

If it will make you feel better push the air quality test issue. He may say if it comes back as mildew you have to reimburse him but at least you’ll know.

Heads up, they aren’t cheap

Probably because youre acting like youre looking for court worthy proof. Save your money on all this testing bs and just buy the stuff and treat it and move on. It's not that big of a deal and it's not that hard to get rid of.

I’m not looking to go to court. We’re about to have a little one. I want it taken care of appropriately. As a tenant, I don’t think I’m out of line.

It's at the most a sixty dollar fix. Spray it, scrub it, spray it again and let that stuff sink in.

The is wood is porous and the mold is down in the wood. You need to stop the growth. This isn't the ripley and going to overcome your house by the morning.

Just kill it with the proper stuff.

That appears to be a drainage pipe.
Is it a drainage pipe?
If so, what does it drain?

Mold treatment will only treat what you can access, the bottom and back of the cabinet can't be treated. There is probably still water under the cabinet.

Drains from the upstairs shower, sinks and bathtubs.

You can see the giant crack. Had to cut a hole from the outside.

All silliness aside, keep the mother-to-be out of there and you do the bleach work.

Oh, also put my knives in another room.
