Social media has completely changed dating culture on a level that no generation has ever seen in their lifetime. It’s made the younger generations of women more childish, narcissistic, and harder to communicate with.
It’s important to note that social media 10 years ago was not like it is today. In the early days of Instagram and Twitter, from 2011-2014, the majority of the users on those platforms were middle and high school kids who posted memes and stuff just to frick around. Now almost every F500 company, politician, and political organization has an Instagram account.

Because men are hard-headed and many would prefer not to be alone until death, so will try a lot to get a partner even if it's an unwinnable battle. This worked for all of human history.
It's only lately that the dynamic that worked so well has been collapsing. Both men and women play their part in this.

Herein lies the problem. For several decades this was the norm. Increasingly because of over exposure to the concept on social media a growing chunk of the young female population is under the belief that they should be holding out for an unattainable partner and spurning those that don't meet their standards. If 50% of the women are holding out for 10% of the men and kicking the rest to the curb then a lot of people are going to die alone.
