Honest question... How is her blog any different from a facebook? It's social media. Wouldn't that make every picture of vacation or status "attention whoring?"

That doesn't equate to standing on a street corner yelling it out for everyone to hear. There's a difference between posting it online for people to find it and read it and yelling at any random person that walks by.

No, really there is no difference. Once you post something on line, be it on your blog, Facebook, Twitter, or whatever you lose control who can and cannot see what you've posted. This thread is a perfect example. She posted that on her "personal" blog. But someone saw that and now they've linked it to this site. Anyone on TD can now easily find her blog without even really knowing who she is (I'm one of those people). Now anyone here can spread her blog in countless ways. They can link her blog to their own. They can post a link to her blog on their FB, twitter, whatever. Then anyone seeing those pages can do the same. That's why when you post something on line, especially something that's tied to your actual identification, whatever you've posted can be seen by any random person. I'm surprised you don't see that.

Of course...is that not understood as being the purpose of Facebook?

That being said...we are talking about the girl who made her sex life part of the public conversation while an LSU athlete right? I mean, I knew she was a virgin, not because I tried to frick her and she personally said no, but because she told anyone within earshot.

Now...is that not the definition of attention whoring, regardless of whatever message you may or may not take from it? Would we not universally consider it attention whoring if some chick who slept around ran around telling everyone about all the guys she fricked? why is talking just as much, but in the opposite, not considered attention seeking?

I honestly don't give two shits about if she was a virgin, slept around, etc...but the only reason I knew anything about her personal life was because she paid it out for everyone to talk about.

You basically just spelled out a whole list of reasons why posting something online is different than yelling at strangers on a street corner. (Well, unless someone videos said person yelling and posts the video online.)

Yes she writes on the internet

quote:

She's not posting her blog using some random username and avatar. She's got her name, face, and thoughts right there on her blog for all the world to see. Anyone who comes by her blog can and will see what she's writing. Thus, like I said, anything she posts here is basically the same thing as standing on a street corner and yelling it out for everyone to hear.
So your theory is everyone is accidentally typing Mo'sblog.com?

If she was spamming your e-mail then you would be right but the only people that go to her site are people that want to go to her site.

Are you really this stupid? If you stand on a street corner yelling out something about yourself, anyone can hear it and then go spread what you've said. When you post something on line anyone can see it and then go spread what you've said.

Really the only difference is if you're yelling out in real life people will spread it second hand. On line all they've go to do is link back to what you've posted and then everyone can go see what your saying themselves.

No, I think you are in this case.

However, carry on if you want to think that I am.

The difference between standing on a street corner and yelling and posting on a blog is the number of people that you are making your message available to. I think you already proved this, and I'm not sure why you have a problem with this analogy.

Doesn't matter how much it is shared unless it is spam the only people who will read it are the people who want to read it.

It's like you're totally clueless to the whole "going viral" thing on the internet. Before this thread, I had no clue who Mo Isom was nor did I know she had a blog. But someone knew her and they posted a link here. Now anyone who comes to Tigerdroppings (which at the moment is 3,626 people) can not only see her blog, but can also spread her blog by posting a link to it on any number of other sites. Then everyone who sees those sites can do the same and on and on.
