I voted we build a few more gazillion dollar field hospitals. Nobody will use them, but it hits the feel goods right.
You can convert an convention center into a field hospital for only $110 million or so. Ask our governor about it.

This happened in New Orleans and Baton Rouge in the early days of the outbreak. Very good plans were developed and implemented to address this situation. Perhaps Mississippi hospital administrators should pick up the phone and consult.

I'd like to know which of all these hospitals normally run at full capacity. It seems like all the hospitals I've been in was always full. Sounds like a scare tactic headline.

As many here have said, hospitals must run somewhere in the neighborhood of capacity for max profitability. Nobody is going to build and staff a grossly oversized hospital just to handle shite like this. It's like building a million room hotel to support a once every 10 years event.

It doesn’t take a large number of people in severe distress with Covid to close the gap and make the ICU “full.”

My wife is getting ready to head out out of town in 10 days to work more China flu patients. She's an ICU nurse getting ready to go make bank again.
