I ate at wards. The lady came around the counter to help four little white girls get ketchup. Started sweeping?!? All kindsa shite. Came to the table to see if we wanted refills.

I moved to Hattiesburg a little over a year ago. There is crime and bad eggs like any other decent sized city but all-in-all there are good folks here that get along with each other. Being a college town it's going to have a more diverse population than your typical MS city. The residents here seem to have embraced that.

there are some really neat little places to live

can't remember the city offhand (I think it may be columbus?) but I went to a wedding there a few years back and it was a LOT of big money folks. I'm sure all those folks have a great time. But holy hell on the drive in there it was miserable. Even if I lived in a baller place like the area I visited, I still wouldn't want to live in MS.

Columbus and Oxford are both pretty nice, but unless you count proximity to Memphis, there isn't much to do.

Natchez is a neat place to visit, and I could live downtown there too. Would own an antique shop and live a slow life.

I made my way to a bar called the end zone. Cool spot. Good food.

End zone is a cool spot but it always smells like a janitor's closet. My girlfriend loves the place. I can only handle the smell for so long

Natchez needs to promote tourism more. It's beautiful, yet it seems to be too sleepy of a town. Throw in some other activities aside from bed and breakfasts/casino.

I want to say they're one of the only states that won't tax you on retirement income? (as far as states that have income taxes that is)

I was in Natchez last weekend and saw a retirement brochure that mentioned something about that.

Interracial dating is "in" on the MS Gulf Coast! That needs to come to New Orleans.

Where I met my wife. I spent too many undergrad nights in that establishment.

I lived in Arkansas from 1990-1997 and lived quite well while making an average of $60K per year. Living costs were shockingly low, especially compared to the other cities I'd lived in: L.A., San Francisco and Chicago!
