Looking at the roads, how the hell did he run into the water there even hammered? Odd place to end up, it’s not like off a dead end or turn or anything?
Could have been a suicide. LSU beat #1 Florida just 3 weeks prior to that. Maybe he just couldn't take it anymore.

Either a Saturn or a Dodge Neon, that was a popular compact at the time.

This smells fishy.
What was he doing riding around new development full of cul de sacs?
Wonder if there was foul play?
Wonder if he had a companion in the car with him that could have escaped
So many questions

Looks like he drove straight through the intersection and into the pond.

For some reason I’m not even sad, I’m impressed. Crazy arse story.

CSI could still come up with an approximate time of death.
They are amazing.
Not really.
An hour after bar time isn't a great example of forensic work.

I wonder how the car ended up in there
A road dead ends at the start of that pond. He probably missed it, and then panicked. His car seems to have drifted to that one side of the pond over time. There is also a guardrail at the end of the dead end now, so it was obviously a problem for others.

No one's brought this up.
Why would he be riding around a dead end neighborhood that was under construction?

Moldt left a nightclub alone around 11 the night before he was reported missing. He did not appear to be intoxicated when he left, though he reportedly had several drinks at the bar. He had called his girlfriend from the bar at around 9:30 p.m. to say he would be home soon, and that was the last contact she had with him.

Maybe smoking weed before he got home to his gf who didn't like it when he smoked

This shite happens more often than you can imagine in Florida. Man made retention ponds everywhere on the sides and ends of roads. This one from 2003 was found in 2015 only because police were looking for another missing person.

A body discovered July 28 in a car in a pond on Bowden Road during the search for 21-month-old Lonzie Barton has been confirmed as a 22-year-old U.S. Navy sailor missing since Jan. 31, 2003, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. While the cause of death of Yaroslav Victorovich Iventyev has not been determined yet by the medical examiner, no foul play is suspected in his death, the Sheriff’s Office said. Iventyev was last seen at dinner with friends that 2003 evening at the now-closed Russian Moscow Nights Restaurant at 5751 Beney Road, just over a mile from where his body was found inside a mud-coated gold 1987 Mazda RX-7. The car was found by police divers, and the body was the second discovered during the search of dozens of ponds last week for the missing Southside toddler.

Pretty simple, his companion was alcohol or drugs, probably both.
You could be going through the motions and have no idea where you are.
I had a friend that was coming off an Adderall binge and ended up in the woods off sharewood forest. He lived off Burbank and was trying to get home, fell asleep at the wheel but had no idea why he was out that way. He was basically on a meth trip.
