I agree. It doesn't fix main problem. It also never fixes day to day problem where blacks are being killed by other blacks. Making this about race serves more of a distraction for some to everyday issues not being solved by community themselves, the community leaders, or their direct elected officials. It also causes more blacks to be overly anxious and/or overly confrontational when dealing with police, and many more prejudge cops as out to harm them worsening and continuing the cycle. In the end the biggest profiteers are the race baiters, politicians, and news media, and the problem that needed to be solved isn't putting the people in need of better policing and the police who do want to help in no better situation than before and probably actually worse with the added anxiety and adversity between them.
The mayor was a dumb arse to push race.
