Minneapolis mayor booed by protesters after refusing to defund and abolish police

Multiple videos on social media show the confrontation, which took place when protesters marched to Frey's home and called for him to come out, according to CNN affiliate WCCO-TV. Protesters asked Frey directly if he supported defunding the Minneapolis Police Department.
When Frey replied that he did not, the crowd booed him as he walked away. They also chanted "Go home, Jacob, go home" and "shame," according to video posted to Twitter.

Let them abolish police. Then watch how many murders, rapes, kidnappings, robberies and all sorts of things happen. Then you’ll have the rise of vigilantes. Who will be ruthless and kill who they suspect on sight. They’ll probably go after the wrong person and kill innocent people. We’ve been down this road before.

While it's nice of him to not bend to that ridiculous demand, he's still a jackass for his handling of the beginning of the riots in Minneapolis to begin with, seeing as how he told the police to stand down and evacuate the 3rd precinct while the city burns along with the precinct.
