Australian developer Tim Gurner, who is 35 and worth half a billion dollars, chastised the youths of the world on a recent episode of Australia's "60 Minutes."

"When I was buying my first home, I wasn't buying smashed avocado for 19 bucks and four coffees at $4 each," he said.

"I think until this generation realizes that the people that own homes today worked very, very hard for it, saved every dollar, did everything they could to get up the property ladder [they won't get ahead]," Gurner added.

Millennials] want to eat out every day, they want to travel to Europe every year," Gurner told "60 Minutes." "This generation is watching the Kardashians and thinking that's normal. Thinking that owning a Bentley is normal, that owning a BMW is normal."

19 bucks for "smashed avocado"? Australia is a strange place.

Well to be fair, a Bentley is a helluva lot nicer than a BMW.

People who prosper bust their asses. Best thing is to let the snowflakes starve to death. Without parental and government handouts, the lazy primidona thing solves itself.

I'm a millennial and he's right. I was fortunate enough that my parents could help me out in college and I have minimal student loans and was able to do things like go on Spring Break. My roommate freshman year who I went to high school with financed his entire college education on student loans and went on ski trip every year as well as spring break and would travel all summer. Stupidest thing I've ever seen. He's got to be balls deep in debt that he'll never be able to pay back.

He is 100% right.

Everyone that I am friends with or acquainted with that is crushing it financially goes out everyday with a smile on their face and goes hard at it everyday.

No one is gonna just give anyone success.

You gotta take lots of punches and just keep coming back for more.

i think the point he is making is one of the most legitimate critiques of millennials.

just about every millennial i know i know eats out and vacations a lot. most can't afford it.
