Also, this game they have played will not be forgotten by these multi billion dollar corporations. As soon as they can unload these folks and use AI etc. they will. And, because of how many times they've been held hostage they will move more quickly to get this taken care of so they dont have to deal with it going forward. Its a headache.
If this is true then we will probably all be fricked when this happens so best just enjoy your life now.

at least boomers got cheaper landscaping and construction labor out of it!

I somewhat agree with this. The immigrants coming from Venezuela and wherever else (which is most of them) are poor and don’t even know English. Sure some of them are probably bad guys but most just want to work and would much prefer to go home if their country wasn’t a socialist shithole. And maybe some of them did vote for this but I bet most of them didn’t.
In the future we might be able to have more American factories run by Americans employing these illegals, but only if we can fix the government regulation issue.

I forgot to mention that the vast majority of people on this board reading this comment are not under any threat of one of these poor Venezuelans taking your job. I have met them. I live in San Antonio. They come here and then they are shipped off to other parts of the country.
Now yes we should be paying our American workers more and we shouldn’t be hiring illegals instead but the fact of the matter is most Americans (including you more than likely) caused this by buying the cheapest goods possible and helping send all the factories to China. What is better buying all our shite from China or paying illegals to make them in American factories that are run by Americans? This is a good question. The ideal would be to move the Chinese factories to Latin America. This will help their economy which means they won’t want to immigrate here as much in the first place. Two birds with one stone

We gave money to 209 countries in 2022.

Where are all the kids going to go to school? Why does my district have another billion dollar bond to build schools to be voted on this year because of exploding enrollment? How much does each state spend on medical care for illegals (it's hard to tell, because nobody is allowed to ask?) What about the federal funding for CHIP (all the ads on MARTA for sCHIP were en Espanol when I lived there?)
So yeah, I don't work at a taquiera, but the economic impact is real.

No, most central and South American countries are corrupt AF. In addition, those poor arse people likely voted for the socialist takeover that occurred in their own countries.

but it's the people coming here and working that are to blame.

No, you know why I pointed that out.

Nah this is one Millennial that has been against illegal immigration since I was a child.
Plus not all of us even voted in 2008. So its not just us that voted for this shite.

They suppress wages and send money out of the country.
They traffic guns, drugs and children.
Yes they are a huge problem.
Oh and they are getting more money rt now than hawaiians.

Illegals are working multiple jobs and contributing into a welfare system they may never get anything from, with other benefits such as cheap labor costs.
Meantime, millions of gen z and millennials are living at parents’ house with a fine arts degree.
Those are the economic facts. Now you can continue to discuss politics.

Oh, Venmo does Social Security withholding now? Reporting transactions to the IRS is different than the IRS being paid.

What about when Boomers and Gen X voted roughly the same, decades ago? With the policies and politicians who have been in power for decades?
Posted on 9/19/23 at 4:53 pm to SlowFlowPro
I think the common theme is that young people (as Boomers and GenX were back in the day) shouldn't be allowed to vote. They aren't mature enough to understand future consequences.
