Yes it is. Everything is done via email. Jobs are applied for online instead of with paper applications. As much as you hate to admit it, the internet is required to both find a job, and do most jobs
These guys.

I bet you could talk them into "If really needed electricity at your home, your employer would provide it for you".

My company pays me $50 a month for cell phone and gave me an iPad with cell service for work.

I also get $50 a month, but I got a Surface Pro with all the fixins.

That's not necessary for the job, so no an employer isn't paying for it. Are you required to have a smart phone for work that your employer doesn't pay for?

They monitor it so I don't really use it outside of work.

I'm the guy that does the monitoring.

Damn, if you were at my company, I'd look at the most fricked up stuff I could find.

All that kind of thing gets blocked by our firewalls. But I can still see who searched for what.
We've got some attorneys here that are some sick, sick bastards.
And there are two other TD posters here in my office. I know who their real names are, I just don't know who their usernames on TD are. I'll find out eventually though.

To all the people saying buying a house isnt worth it.. I bought my first house at 21. 20 years ago. I've bought or built 5 since.. I just paid cash to build a 3500 sf house on 2 acres. From selling the others for a profit.
I also have a contract on 200 acres I bought 12 years ago for double what I paid for it. If you like renting great. I'm sure your landlord likes it too. Btw he wouldn't be a landlord if he wasn't making money owning the house..

You can buy a house in metro Atlanta or Houston for 170k. Might not be the house you've always dreamed of but it wouldn't be 80 miles from civilization either
You'll be in the fricking ghetto
You can get homes in the Houston suburbs in that range and they won’t be in the ghetto. I found this one in under a minute. It’s not the nicest, but it is zoned to some of the best public schools in the state. LINK

I’m making 12% a month on my rental house here. Currently living with the SO (no pics) DINK in her place ($550k condo). This will also be a rental property when we move to a new house in a couple years and will bring in at least 15% a month when we rent it out.

Millennials just have different values than boomers do.
We live at the beach and my in laws were trying to get us to move to inland south FL because real estate is so cheap compared to where we live. It just never occurred to them that we love where we live and don’t care about price per square foot. We don’t want a big house or big yard and being at the beach is a must. They just didn’t get it.
Neither one is wrong, just different.

quote:you must not have moved around the country much. plenty of gorgeous wrap around porch homes for 170K in the country; or a burb of a burb-- and there is nothing wrong with the area. you are speaking for high end city burbs only.
I’m just saying that in general....low cost of living area are that way for a reason.
There is something that makes that area less than ideal to live at.
people in cookie cutter 250K and up homes with 10 feet to your neighbors window and a HOA- are not everybody's cup of tea.

I know a Millennial that bought a country living brick home with 5 acres for 150K; and the area is gorgeous. He is not dumb enough to live above his means.

Completely redone, floors replaced... I thought that people on a LA related website would know the code words for "previous flood damage".
