My brother in law is proof of this. It's his parents' fault.

How many ways do we need to say this is the laziest generation?

Can say this current crop of college kids are the most narcissistic & spoiled bunch I've ever met as a whole, with a few cool ones intermingled in that awful model. Met quite a few "unaware socialists" who think if you have more than them, they're entitled & guilt-free to try to take what you have. For equality, man!

Maybe it's just in my area code, who knows

This is the kind of crap that makes me embarassed to be a part of this generation.

I've been working full-time since I finished undergrad, moved out of my parent's house about the same time, worked and paid my way through grad school, and got married and have a kid.

These idiots that put work before anything else are going to regret it when they are in their 40s and browsing eHarmony for their "perfect match".

30 year old here. Wife, two kids, college degrees. Been working fulltime since 20. Worked summers and winters roughnecking (to pay for school) before that with partime jobs during the semester. Making 6 figures good benefits. Ole lady works too (not making quite as much, but the best benefits out there. No help from parents. One kid in day care and one in pre-k (we pay for). Own two houses (actually the bank owns them right now), nice vehicles... These lazy, entitled millenials make it easy to be successful by working hard and being halfway cool.

What's the official cut off date for Millenials these days? Younger than 35? I know people born in '81 who are drastically different socially and workforce-wise than their siblings born in '85.

Why add the expense of housing while you're in school if you don't have to.

because living on your own while in college is the most fun you will ever have in your life and if you don't do it then you'll regret it

I haven't lived at my parents home since I was 17

I don't really mind this. It makes it easier for those of us who work hard to succeed.

I agree. If we're going to categorize at all, need to separate to "born w/ the internet" & after from those born pre-net or something like that. There is a cultural difference

I mean the majority of them said their highest priority is getting a full-time job. Isn't that the opposite of lazy?
Saying and doing are two different things. Also, even when they do get jobs, their work ethic is shite.

A lot of them don't take things seriously enough. They just don't get it.

A lot of millennials treat serious jobs with the same apathetic attitude you'd expect from a teenager who works a minimum wage job. And at the same time they think they should be making decisions on day one. The entitlement is unbelievable.

I'm not talking about everyone, obviously, but so many have the same attitude.

Why are people so obsessed with a timeline? It took me until 27 to get my life perfectly in order and I guarantee I'll be in much better shape than most people who started earlier by the time we reach 35. Worry about your own life instead of shitting on other people's failures.

Older people have no idea how much easier they had it. Nobody walks right into a full time salaried job these days without qualifications.

Now what is the job market like compared to our parents generation, and what is the cost of living compared to average salary like compared to 20-30 years ago?

We had stagflation when I graduated HS. Took a min. Wage job to start and went to school at night. The real unemployment rate in my city was around 20%

We wanted independence and did what it took.

A: quit feeling sorry for yourself and thinking you're the only one who ever faced adversity.
B: keep pushing. This is the only game you got so sitting around bitching about it is pointless. Just get in it and start participating. There isn't an alternative.

You're talking about a generation of people that got trophies just for showing up. They were told that there is a prescription pill for every undesirable emotion they have ever had. Expecting these people to "nut up" is a fantasy
