And conservatives who allowed it to happen under their watch and slowly become what it is today.
What I see is that our leadership over the last several decades has allowed a rot to creep in through our country's various institutions. The leadership present during that creep was commonly of the boomer generation.

I would love for our highest ranking govt officials, university president, and other institutional leaders to step aside and let gen. X leaders take the wheel.

Which will happen and already is to some degree. The youngest Boomers will be retired from most traditional jobs in the next 8-9 years.
Politics is a different beast. A lot of them are lifers. Joe Biden is the Silent Generation and has been in politics for 47 years.

Yes I know, that whole thi g is just a hypothetical which will never happen i put forth as responses in this thread.
My only really position is that I think boomer leadership has for the most part been very weak and has really squandered a time of stability in US history.

One example at the top of my head would be the physics community giving resources to areas outside of string theory, which largely hasn't panned out.
From a govt perspective committing real resources towards understanding AI, combatting Chinas efforts in that same area by trying to put together worldwide standards for AI and data use, same thing for bio research. We are very far behind the curve in all these areas to name a few.
Overall there are new ideas all over the place, our long period of stagnation is what is troubling

He was born in 1942. Most of the greatest generation is dead. The youngest ones would be 93 now.

This isnt completely blanket of course, Bill Gates (I assume is a boomer) and other people in computers, some medical people, all have made great strides, but there just hasn't been much

AI is a pretty new issue. You can't really blame Boomers for this one.

- Saw 09/11 as a teenager and knew what it meant for the world.
- Entered the workforce around the time the 08-12 recession was in full swing.
- Started having kids immediately before and around the time of Covid outbreak.
A lot of the ones on this board were on the gulf coast during Hurricane Katrina. Some of the older ones remember Challenger explosion.
I'd say that people that age have seen their fair share of events with a distinct "before and after".
