I called this years and years ago.
A ton of millennials had parents who got divorced. It's only natural to try to avoid the same mistakes they made.

Well it makes it much easier to stay married if you are a generation that doesn't mind your wife cuckholding you.

This is unsurprising due to a lot of factors.
As others have mentioned there isn't a stigma right now to get married as soon as possible, or even at all. All the guys who got married because they thought they should even though they wanted to sleep around can now sleep around as a single person, rather than a married wo/man and give cause to a divorce lawsuit. Even those who are more dedicated to monogamy are content to have a "baby daddy" as opposed to a husband.
Furthermore, millenials have had far less time for their marriages to sour. Millenials aren't old enough to be married for twenty years and then divorce, or be married twice for ten years and divorced both times, or married once every 5 years and divorced 3 times.
Divorce rates for Millenials will go up as time goes on, but they'll probably never hit Boomer levels. The next generation will probably have Millenials beat for the same reasons.
If society ever starts to consider man and woman as equal earners and does away with alimony divorce rates will take a nosedive and probably never significantly come back.

Pew Research says their final definition of GenX is '61-'81
ETA - sorry that was a documentary by Nat Geo that had those years. Pew is'65-'80.

I assume it's because women don't want to get married and live in their mother in laws basement.

Now, imho, is not the time to get married. There is way too much turmoil in our society.

Millennial's actually cut from the norm unlike every generation before. Today it's not about chasing the money and needing to buy the next thing. But working enough to live and have a life outside of work. Some even save enough to travel especially if they're YouTuber's. They can make thousands by just having a great personality and uploading daily.

While Boomers are the worst, back in their day they was definitely more pressure to get married vs today. Pretty sure you couldn’t left swipe a ho in the 60’s

They don't date or get married so of course the divorce rate is lower. Duh!
Someone doesn't know what a rate is.
Let me try to explain it for you so you can leave this thread smarter than you entered it.
If 100 people enter a race, but only 50 people finish it, the quantity of people that finished is 50, but the RATE of completion is the number of finishers divided by the number of entries, which is simply 50/100, or 1 out of 2 (0.5, or 50%)
Now if 30 people enter a different race, which only 15 people finish, the rate of completion is the same: 15/30, or 0.5 (50%)
Now, and stay with me here because this is the tricky part: even though 35 more people finished the first race than the second one, the RATE is the same because of how the math works out.
Now, let's apply it to the current situation: let's assume you are correct and millenials are marrying in fewer numbers than boomers. Apply what you've learned and answer: does the RATE of divorce necessarily go down? No, it doesn't, UNLESS millenials are changing the dynamic of the situation.
There! You're instantly smarter than when you entered this thread.
Now frick off, dumbass.

this re4ally isnt true. while you arent pushed to be married in your 20s or 30s or 40s, but if you meet a 40-50+ dude never married...... you know there is something wrong with that dude. Like kiddy porn wrong.
...no.
The 80/20 rule is somewhat accurate in today's society. Women in many metropolitan areas can be quite picky AND willing to bail on a relationship pre-marriage.
A guy that is a 5.5/10 is typically going to struggle in today's marketplace - and things will get severe if you live in DC/NYC/SF/Seattle.

My mother is a admin of a large corporation. She made the comment a few months ago that my generation was all about earning enough PTO to take their next vacation and not saving up PTO to cash out or for emergencies.

Are their marriage rates also down? I wonder if the ones chosing marriage are more serious than their predecessors since the non married stigma is basically non existent in this generation
100 percent true.
