re: Military forced to sideline 17 vessels due to man power shortages

The young man I referenced to in my previous post is very excited about getting out within the next year. Really is sad how bad the Navy is now but like I told him he did the right thing he can use his GI bill and have the VA home loan stuff for the rest of his life.

It's been well established the military enlistment has been in the tank for years now, and it's only going to get worse.

I mean how is it not predictable at this point? Whether we want to admit it or not, the vast majority of the military are young white men, typically from the south or the midwest, between 18 - 30. This group has been the most vilified group in U.S. history at this point. Talk to some on the far left and they'll tell you all these men are racists and oppressors.

A good part of our country hate these men, and yet then have the audacity to ask them to give their lives for a country that hates them. Not a big surprise a lot of these men, who in previous times would have joined the military, are now saying "screw you" and going into the trades.

I would also say it was inevitable as from the 1990s on most joined the military to get free college. Well we all know college isn't what it was and so now more and more young men are going back to trade schools. These young men don't need the military to go to a trade school.

I don't have children, but if I had a son nowadays, I would do everything in my power to prevent him from joining the military. Obviously at the end of the day it's his decision and I wouldn't be able to completely stop him, but I would try. Heck, same if I had a daughter. Being white I know that a white woman is just below a white man in terms of who the far left hates. I absolutely wouldn't want any daughter on mine in the military at this point either.

I sure as heck wouldn't go to war for this government and the military industrial complex. The shortages in the military are going to get worse and I think that's why they are updating the draft laws so that it's automatic. They might be preparing for involuntary service if the levels drop too low. Of course they refuse to realize that if the military was just focused on actually being a military and defending the country, there would be no lack of people who would join.

I'm very happy for her and very proud of HER accomplishment, especially knowing the difficulties she persisted through to reach this point. Her middle school and early high school years were not the best with her parents marriage difficulties and eventually divorce.

I, of course, can take no credit for her reaching her dream. When she graduated high school, we opened a sealed letter she had written to herself in 3rd grade to read when she finished high school. She said at the the early age of 8 that she was going to be leaving for the Air Force immediately upon graduation. That changed to Navy but she still did exactly what she set out to do.

I’m also proud and impressed with her mother that supported her through the difficult years and her high school ROTC Commander and First Sargent really stepped up to the plate to guide her and keep her on this path to success.

You are right, it wouldn't be taught directly in conservative areas. I know you are up by Jacksonville (I'm in between Orlando and Daytona Beach myself so I know where Nocatee is), so you are right that teachers up there aren't going to directly say "all white people are evil". Like you said, it would get parents like you and me all riled up.

But they do it far more subtlety. Notice how there's a month or at least days for all groups except whites? I don't see a European American History month or a White History month like you see a Black History month or a National Hispanic Heritage month. Kids notice that.

The teachers don't have to flat out say white people are evil. They can just always put minorities in a positive light while always putting whites in a negative light (especially in history classes). Look at Washington and Jefferson, Teachers wouldn't have to focus on their roles fighting the British and founding this country. They can focus on Washington and Jefferson as evil slave owners. Heck look at the shows and movies that come out now. The hero is almost always a minority or a woman. The antagonist or bad guy (again notice how we call it bad guy, we don't say bad person or bad woman) is almost always a white male.

So again, it's not going to be direct, at least in conservative areas. In liberal areas it will be more direct and I have friends in liberal areas who have had this problem. But it's how they can focus on the negatives for whites and focus on the positives for all other groups. It's how all other groups get to celebrate their heritage but white kids really do not, and if they try, it'll be shut down quickly. Again they do it in a way that will keep the parents asleep of what is going on.

And it's understandable, even predictable, that when kids are taught that their race and even their country are evil, they aren't going to rush to sign up to protect that. It's like why many young people aren't saving any money and the YOLO mentality has taken over. Many of them don't think they'll be alive in 10 years due to climate change.
