Germans, not the post, but I've worked around a lot of Germans and about half of them only shower about once a week and don't use deodorant. An office meeting at the end of the week during the Summer is torture.

Lived in an Afghan Valley for a year with portable bagged showers maybe twice a week? I washed my hair every other week and just hit the hot spots (armpits, groin, buttcrack).

I lived to tell about it.

I've sat on the train with some folks in Eastern Europe that smelled like my sweat soaked football girdle that had been marinating in my gym bag in my car all weekend in high school in the Summer.

Their real issue is deodorant. It's bizarre that isn't more common.

We had mandatory shower time after we grounded our gear to "heat dump". We all knew damn well the cadre just didn't want to smell our nasty asses.

Supposedly soap doesn’t really do anything for you anyway, it’s just somehow over the years become part of our “shower culture.” As have daily showers, which also aren’t necessary.

I was reading some articles on it the other day, not showering and not using soap are a new trend

I don't care if it's washing in the creek, I'm not going without cleaning.

Hollywood types are WAY out there. Nothing new here.

Uh, that's dumb. Soap cuts oils on the skin. It's also why using soap daily for some people can be a bad thing, as it strips all the natural oils from the skin and hair.

You must become one with the earth and conceive of the splendors of Hollywood neo-paganism before imparting such criticism.

What if the kids are sweaty but not dirty? Water by itself is not getting rid of kid funk BO.

This.

It definitely cleans you, it just removes good stuff too. If you haven't been sweaty or gotten dirty, there really isn't a reason to shower or use soap other than "feeling clean" which I agree is awesome and why I do it.

One of my kids had eczema and the pediatrician said to stop bathing him every night and we moved to every 3 nights and used some special oat bath stuff that didn't remove skin oils. Cleared right up.

I'm sure they wash their children if they have awful BO. I'm guessing that is included in the "dirt". But I don't know that for sure.

Yes please bathe your kids or have them shower if they have BO

That’s repulsive.

I can’t even fathom touching any part of my bed at night without showering first.

Can you imagine what a Antifa meeting or gathering would smell like?
