frick, no. Airbnbs are not worth the hassle money-wise. We make slightly more than if we had it as an LTR.

There’s a literal contract that exists with residential rentals on VRBO or Airbnb…

I think there is (or should be) an implied social contract you don’t leave anywhere a total fricking mess. I at least leave all of the dishes washed off or towels neatly piled up for example. I never leave shite strewn everywhere because I’m not an a-hole

Yeah, Odysseus is acting like a turd in here, but two things can be true at the same time. I don't leave the room a mess because it's against my own standards as a human being. Dishes in the sink is my biggest pet peeve when it comes to cleanliness.

I also think a chore demand list like many rentals these days have can rub people the wrong way.

Last time we had a VRBO, the housekeeper arrived as we were walking out the door to fly home. Seems like having someone there the same day guests leave is the easiest way around the whole "take the trash to the curb" issue.

Correct. AFTER you've decided on the price, then you get a surprise...the owner is a liar.

I've booked a ton of my people into hotels down through the years, and less into ARBNS for good reason

check out the lying

you hide fees, and then you blame the guests for not searching for the hidden language - you can't lie to me, I've been through this for over two decades

I mostly do all of this because I keep a clean space myself and have no desire to spend any time in squalor just because someone else is paid to deal with it. I'm also a bleeding heart to a fault when it comes to service employees.

All of this ^^*

Just because you don’t HAVE to clean up doesn’t mean you should be a nasty slob. Loading the dishwasher and putting the trash out isn’t that big of a deal.

When we eat out at restaurants I try to stack plates, pick up stuff we drop on the floor, wipe up any spills, etc. Not because I have to but because I’m not a slob.

Same, tyga, same

Just bc I know we are going to be charged the auto-grat just bc we are a large family - doesn’t mean everyone has to know we are a large family

We are a very clean large family bc that’s the way I taught my people

And I’ve never stayed at an air bnb with a long list if chores but I’ve seen them while looking - and it’s sort of a turn off.

Taking out the garbage is up in the air for me - I don’t mind bringing it to the outside cans/dumpsters but I think rolling the cans to the curb is a little much - where are the cleaners going to put their trash? Do you want people to know the place is vacant? but the place is not going to be a mess either and you never know 8 ppl were in there

I mean you’re just wrong here. Airbnb has an option to include all fees in the price you are looking at.

Ocean is still a fig who has no friends despite his money and couldn’t find a woman until he was 40, but you are wrong

Eh, some times I have a coffee or eat on departure day, I was my shite off and don’t leave food everywhere, but sometimes I want to throw my shite in the trash can and leave a coffee mug and a fork in the sink. That’s kind of the entire point of paying for shite. You’re already charging me $150, you can load the damn dishwasher and washing machine

Social Media fricked up women. They are now unhappy about everything. 4s out there thinking they deserve a 6-3” ripped dude making 250k that treats her like a princess
People wonder why I'm single in my mid 40's, this is why. The vast majority of women my age think they're social media famous and live their lives according to that standard which is why they've got 3 kids from 2 different dads and would be drowning in debt if it weren't for that child support payment. They've got $0 in savings and when that monthly check runs out, they're fricked.
