I went to an Orange Crush event in Tybee Island(Savannah) once, I think it was the year after I graduated. It was definitely different. It was a completely different feel from when I went to Panama City during spring break.

PCB was just good ole unadulturated college fun. College students everywhere, white, black, hispanic, asian, etc. Everyone was there to have a good time.

Orange crush was completely different. Majority of the people there were not college students. Alot of people in their 30s and some 40s. While PCB it was just harmless fun, getting drunk, we all sharing drinks on the beach etc. OC was multiple fights, people really werent friendly. Seemed like some just went out of their way to be rude to all waitstaff, etc. People would constantly hold up traffic for no reason at all.

PCB spring break remains one of the most fun and fond memories I've ever had for vacation. Orange Crush was not, and there's zero chance I would ever go back.

This is why you go skiing during Spring Break. There aren’t any shootings up there but for some reason I can’t put my finger on why.

I'd be willing to wager a majority of the Biloxi Black Spring Break attendees aren't students.

I fully believe it. I don't know what it is, but people love the college aesthetic. It's typically the people who never attended college, or they flunked out because they were too dumb. But these type of people are addicted to trying and hang out with college students, party with them, etc. But they always cause trouble though as well.

Reminds me when I was in college, during homecoming, we would have alot of parties, etc. But it never failed, during homecoming, we have shootings, robberies, people getting robbed on campus, rape, etc. It hardly ever happened during the school year, but always so during homecoming. The thing is, it almost never fails, the criminals who were caught doing these things, they were not even students. They were random older people who either lived in the town, or they traveled in when they saw it was a college homecoming. "Those fricking locals", as we used to call them.

I think the same thing happens with these Spring Break events. It started as college students wanting to get away. At some point it got hijacked from those who couldn't hack it in college, but they love the idea of partying with college students. So much so they come and pretend they're in college. But they don't have any of the sense that most students do, so they just ruin things. Those fricking locals.

I remember in the 90s we tried to book a hotel in Panama City. They told us you needed to be 25 or older to book a room. (This was Memorial Day weekend)

You had to do this because in 1984, after our junior year of high school at 16 years old, 11 buddies and I spent 9 days in Panama City in one room at the old Holiday Inn with the 4 story tall rock formation swimming pool. You can imagine what that room looked like when we checked out. We used melted bars of soap to fill holes in the wall from a scuba diving knife throwing exhibition and used the glass globe of the light and some aluminum foil to make a bong and burned no less than a dozen holes in the mattresses. My portion of the bill for the 9 days came to $114. This included my portion of the forfeited damage deposit.

There is more violence in todays kids, but its not like we were fricking angels.

This is a private business doing what they feel needs to be done, I can respect it. We don’t need the government making those decisions for us. You stop the criminals, not the law abiding citizens.

And I got 14 commie downvotes for stating that.

Not lying.

From "Black Beach Week" dot com.

LINK

They did this shite in Tybee Island for a couple years before the city found some kind of way to shut it down. During black college spring break, our dearly departed Chef Leppard on Tybee said he saw more black arse than the Horry County Free Clinic.

I could be wrong, but I thought the had that in Biloxi for a while.
