We took the kids to Mardi Gras and stayed at the Hampton Inn on St. Charles near LA Avenue a couple of years ago and wanted to make a return trip this year. I can book that hotel again but it is over $400 a night but the Hotel Indigo about a mile down the road is like $175 a night. It is on St. Charles near Jackson Avenue. The hotels themselves look similar and both would suit our needs just fine but is the area near LA Ave that much better than Jackson Ave to justify more than double the cost?

Thanks and Merry Christmas!

The Hampton near Touro? The closer you get to Leeless Circle the more near the hood. But if you eat away from the circle should be fine

Gotta be the one.

And yeah, I don't think there's a $200+ difference per night between the locations.

That stretch of Louisiana of St Charles is fine. Would rather the area by Hampton though.

It’s certainly not a twice as good situation. It’s either you are better filling an awkward hole in the weekend calendar there or someone has made a mistake.

No. The Hampton is on the Riverside of St Charles Indgo on the Lake so it is about 40 yards closer to Central City. All along St. Charles is pretty much the same, it gets sketchy in some areas when you go toward the Lake. Save the money and go indigo.

Leeless Circle

Love that! Had never heard it referred to as that.
I hope that catches on. With your permission I’ll do my part and use it in the future.

You need to consider the safety and demographics between the 2 locations

You get what you pay for

I live 3 blocks from the Indigo. You'll be fine there.

You might want to compare its rates with the Pontchartrain Hotel and the Avenue Plaza Resort, which are right down St Charles, about a block closer to the Circle Formerly Known as Lee.

We stay at the Hampton for nyx and muses. It is fun to be the youngest parents with kids riding in the parade. Just us and a lot of drunk blue hairs.
