Yeah, tough.

I´ve got two sartorial suits made by the guy who used to make off the peg semi-canvassed Burberry for all of the European Union, that are of Cashmere-Tasmanian Wool from Loro Piano.

Fabric alone was indeed about 2800USD per suit (cost).

I still wear both, some 11 years later (pants on one split in the arse, and I´ve got to send the jacket to Loro Piana´s rep to get fabric and have a new pant made).

The place here called Mozingos is like that. You know you're paying out when the suits are only custom made and they price it by fabric and by the yard.

The fabrics are so fine, though. That store is like Heaven to me

Wow, that´s the New Zealand Mohair I showed you.

frick me, I´ve got four (it hurt to pay, believe me, but it was at cost, and over the long haul is muuuuch better and more economical than off the peg BS from a Nordstrom or similar, something many don´t understand).

The 140´s is crazy for frequent use, and I´m sure he´s not using Loro Piana.

I vouched for them earlier in the thread. My tailor in NYC told me it was very nice. He thought it was worth a lot more than I paid for it and suggested I buy more. I'll give you durability, but there are plenty of Super 140-150 suits out there that are not as good as a deal. The great thing, though, is that he has suits outside the Benjamin line, so you can find other full canvas suits in the $400-500 range. Just search around for reviews...styleforum has been pretty supportive, which is where I learned about ehaberdasher.

I wear suits every day, as well as travel in them quite a bit... Bought a couple Ralph Laurens at a 50% sale at Dillards a couple years ago and have been very pleased. Held up extremely well and have only recently started to show wear. I've probably worn them each over a hundred times.

Have a couple from mix/match suits Banana that are ok, but not crazy about the fit.

Just bought a couple Brooks Bros from their outlet store. They are the "346" brand, but are a great fit and seem like they will hold up well.

I tend to not spend more than $200-300 on a suit, but that's just my own preference.

It's not the *best* quality... but for the value and if you don't give a shite about the cut and just need a bunch of suits at this point in your career...

Nothing beats Jos Bank "Buy 1, get 3 free"...

I've made my last set of since like December 2013(?) But I spent like $600 for 4 fricking suits... $750 if you include alterations.

Go to nordstroms and saks and try on a bunch of suits from major labels (Hugo boss, z zegna, Ralph Lauren, etc). Find a brand and style/cut that fits you well and then look online for good prices.

I found I can wear Hugo Boss off the rack 42R - just minor alterations. So instead of spending $1500 in store I find them online for $250 - $600.

Have 6 suits now for about the price of 1.5 - they look great

This. Suits are massively marked up but some of the brand stuff actually does matter-- I'd avoid the really low end brands even to the point of going used over it-- the materials will wear out extremely fast in a weekly use environment and will quickly eclipse the cost savings.

That's the goal, also need to snag a pair or two of the handmade oxfords.

Just need to hit a goal weight before dropping more than a grand or so.

The above is probably the best info i've found after hours of research.

I bought an indochino custom and a Alfani red label recently, and i'd say both turned out pretty well. The next suit i buy, i will try the ebay method of buying high end suits gently used.

The key is to take whatever you buy to the tailor.

Mens Wearhouse. I recently upgraded all my suits and couldn't be happier with the quality:price ratio.
