World? don't know. The US? Success and lack of sustained hardship. We're fat and happy and have the luxury of focusing on stupidity like gender identity, imparting maliciousness to everyday words, avoiding responsibility and all manner of self-centered attention seeking.

Speak for yourself, man. I don't do any of that shite.

I bet your grandfather wouldn't have spent his time bitching on the internet
I bet I know what his grandfather would have said about farces like gay "marriage" and people picking a gender for a day and pissing in the wrong restroom.

Then your grandfather and his friends decided after a hard war they wouldn't try very hard at parenting and raised a bunch of assholes known as the boomers, who in turn created dipshits. That's what happened to us.
That's a valid point

And true.
I tend to think that history is much more cyclical and holistic than linear. Our extreme technological jumps in the past 250 years have made us think that we have risen above history and the nature of the rise and fall of society, but I doubt that's the case.

Civilizations have always been cyclical in nature. Going back tens of thousands of years before what we call the beginning of recorded history in 4,000BC. New archaeological evidence is showing that.

I agree. Even with new changes the themes still remain.

Read some Oswald Spengler if you ever get a wild academic hair up your arse.

Hard to overcome sex, drugs and rock n roll, they tried.
The answer is turning away from religion and the Protestant work ethic of delayed gratification, and embracing the seven deadly sins including gluttony.

If we will do this an legalize pot federally, things will start to change for the better overnight. Cannabis opens your mind to the reality that most of the things society has conditioned you to believe as true growing up are just BS.

My great great great grandfather trapped bears with Daniel Boone in am, caught fish With Cherokee Indians for lunch and kllled Chickasaws on the way home before drinking a jug of moonshine and raising hell at night .....
We are a bunch of scared little pussies, scared of everything. 5000 crazy fanatics 3000 miles away, some gay couple two towns away, black people, Mexicans, chicks with dicks, science, etc.
My ancestors lived 30 miles away from 1000s of people and animals that wanted to kill them their entire lives.
I have a small arsenal to protect me from ....frick I don't know I am just keeping up with Jones. ( Everyone on my street has a few Ar-15s and thousands of rounds.)
Each generation we live better, life gets easier, death gets rarer and as a result we become softer.
My dad was tougher than me and his was tougher than him
