So, we're sitting around (me and the gf (no pics a-holes)) and we decide we just want a change of scenery and get away for a few days. We threw darts at a map and ended up with 8 finalist cities and then wrote those down and drew out of a hat.

The winner was Memphis. I haven't been since I was a kid and don't know the first thing about Memphis.

Any hotel recommendations? Must see types of things to do/see?

while you can't go wrong with the Peabody, also check out The Madison.

Didn't. As I said it was total random luck.

April 10-14. No plans whatsoever so far. Clean slate.

Maybe. Just one of those "frick it" type of things. We couldn't figure out where to go and we've both traveled a good bit. Never been here so, like I said, frick it.

I used to go to Memphis once a month for business. I always bid on priceline in the East Memphis area. Would usually get a Hilton Garden Inn, Hyatt, or Sheraton for 45 bucks.

Peabody is nice as well as the Madison. I believe they have some NCAAt games in Memphis this year? Maybe catch a Grizz game too if you can. Not sure when the Rebirds start upm nicest Triple A stadium in the country.

I've only been twice over night and once passing through. I like the city.

Peabody or the Madison are good recommendations. The Westin across the street from the forum is great too.

I found this to be pretty good representation of things to do here for tourists LINK

I have been to Memphis a few times on business, and had a great time. Beale St is a must do. I am not a big Elvis fan, but there's Graceland. I do want to see the Memphis Belle next time I go.
