I was raised Catholic and while I have my own beliefs and do not attend mass, I do agree, it should be about sacrifice. I was always taught that by going to mass you are giving an hour of your time to god
But I do understand that people have the right to practice their faith however they feel is best for them, but I do think that these megachurches has become more of a form of entertainment than anything. The music, the lights, the high energy.
That has been used to make people feel good. They get a rush from all of it. Like going to a LSU football game. The roar of the crowd, the music, the excitement is an experience that makes them return.
But I don't think the Catholic church has done itself many favors over the past 15 year, which has played a factor in people seeking other ways to worship.

Sin will always push, drive, and/or lead people away from God.
It doesn’t just effect the sinner and or the victims but also the bystanders.
