His method of protest just gave the strong opposition a way to hide their bias and disgust for anyone speaking up as virtue signaling.

There are plenty of people who oppose his beliefs that never would have a problem with him voicing his opinion...choosing to do it and disrespecting the flag in the process is the outrage...not his stance.

When those voices are speaking half-truths and are exclusionary by practice, yea, it should deter me. You don't follow bad leaders just b/c you share similar goals.

ETA: Well, alot of people do that, actually. Look at our current administration.

He gets a lot of shite and I may disagree with how he chose to protest but I have respect for what he did. It was what he felt was right. He did so knowing that he would catch hell for kneeling or sitting. He isn't a bad guy, just misguided. Police brutality and corruption is a real issue no matter what race you are. We need more people like him in this world.

Uh, blindly believing something and standing up for it does not inherently deserve respect.

I could truly believe black people are the devil (as he believes similar towards cops), does that mean I deserve respect just because I sacrifice some part of my life for that cause?

You said it yourself, he's misguided, why the frick do we need more people like that?

I argue that a black man doing so had more to do with it. Among conservatives, especially in the south, that type of behavior just won't be tolerated.

Shouldn't you see the good and focus on that and work to show that as the true message?

But you say that b/c you're black. I still don't get why black people think "whitey" is truly out to get them. We care about things that affect us...work, family, bills, etc

I fit that profile and am telling you right now I don't care about his position...just how he chose to protest.

Yea, probably so, Monty. Less messenger, more message.

You know what the common denominator with people like Kap, and so so many his age is?

Attention. They crave the ever loving shite out of it and will do whatever it takes to get it. No matter if it’s the clothes they wear, the cars they drive, the hair do’s and colors, the tats, the outrageous opinions, the good things they announce to the world that they do and believe in, or you name it, everything boils down to bringing attention to themselves. They are all looking for identities, and desperately want you to notice them. If any of them were isolated in the woods somewhere and you happened upon them one day they would be unrecognizable from any other human on the planet, but they aren’t, and that’s why they’re so full of themselves and want you to recognize them. It’s all about bringing attention to themselves.

Sounds like you have a significant amount of bias yourself, and ignorance tbh.

Just look at the politicians that represent you and the laws they make that target blacks and you'll see why we feel this way. I'm just smart enough to see the traps and not fall for them and try my best to educate young blacks the same way.

As you said above you care about things that affect you. White male conservatives aren't being killed at an alarming rate by police so it doesn't effect you. It will never be a concern because most cops are the same as you and will go to great lengths to protect you are the demographic that keeps them in power.

The reason black males are killed at a higher rate has to do with the number of crimes/contact

Black males kill 40% of cops killed in duty

Stop and frisk. Seat belt law(even though it wasn't intended to target it has been used for it.)
