Amex has a lounge. But I don’t have an Amex.

With as many branches as Capital One bought into the traditional banking business by buying New Orleans based Hibernia in the 2000’s, it funny they didn’t choose to put a lounge in New Orleans.

Vegas has a Capital One Lounge and they don’t even have branches there, but probably have a ton of credit card customers that fly through there.

Heck I am a capital one customer, but don’t qualify to get complimentary access to one. It is like 90 dollars to access with any Capital One card and 125 without.

I’m usually at the airport 2 hours or so for a normal day flight. So I don’t see the big deal do you here.

I just got a credit card with no annual fee that gives access to The Club. First time I’m ever going in there coming up.

That’s insane. I fly enough that I have times down to a science. 45 mins door to parked. 30 mins from car through TSA and to gate. Boarding 40 mins before flight. Hasn’t ever failed me.

It’s all a ploy by big airport to get you to spend more money in the airport

Which one? Is it Priority Pass or certain clubs specific?

2 hours is completely standard and what is recommended by every major airport on earth.

What’s insane is relying on your “system” to be the same every day and relying on government employees to make it so. To not account for a horrible traffic jam or a flat tire or….a TSA staffing issue.

I get there early so I don’t have to think about it.

But do you. I don’t mind sitting a little bit. If you do then do what you do

US Bank Connect.

Priority Pass select.

I always have back up cards in addition to the one I use the most that give some perk and I don’t do Amex.

TSA helping organize it seems.

Houston reporter on news this morning reporting 3-4 hrs at 7 am.

Apparently different “sick out” levels at different airports.

MYTSA app, who knows how accurate? It’s not showing anything more than 30 mins at BTR, Laffy, Atlanta, NOLA, Houston, etc…. App says may not be updated.

Hard to tell what’s accurate.

Airports are always craziest first thing in the morning. Add a holiday week/weekend to that mix and it’s going to be even more hectic. Sure this TSA thing isn’t helping but it surely isn’t causing the chaos you’re hearing from the media.

I don't think the media really knows when there will be a sick out or short staffing.

They aren't making up the long lines.

I think what is happening is that folks who have the really early morning flights are showing up and lining up before they even open up the security at 3:30 so that when they open up the lines are out the door.

I had a co-worker whose wife showed up at 2:30 this morning and the line was about 40 people deep but she said by the time the time they opened up for entry at 3:30 there were hundreds in line.

So I think the fear of missing flights gets a much bigger crowd there at 3:30 and the lines are huge, but once that clears - like say at 6:00 it is more of a normal flow.

Yeah I'm way too skittish to have margins that thin on a flight. All it takes is Ms. Brenda's shuttle bus breaking down between the old terminal garage and the new one and you're missing your flight. I lose nothing by getting to my gate early and making sure it still exists

Oh yeah you get like 4 visits annually with that right? Pretty good for many people w/o an AF.

I have the Sapphire Reserve, AMEX Plat, and C1 VX right now and can't even bring someone for free into AMEX or C1 lounges. Likely gonna downgrade some of these cards when the next AF hits.
