No, they're doing their fricking job. If the company policy says to charge for extra and they don't, then they are pretty much taking money out of their company's wallet. Good on the employee for giving a shite about their job.

It's immature and really just ignorant.

The crew member was reticient to give him 500 cups because they only keep a certain amount in stock and giving him half a thousand is going to frick up their ability to serve other guests until they can right the ship and have some more shipped.

eta: Also I imagine the employee was in high school and/or a young person who really just froze up in a situation like that. This guy just comes across as a bully to me.
