Surely the cop did some wrong to be suspended.

I thought cops always reached for the pepper spray or baton first. This frickin moron pulls out his 9 for a bunch of high schoolers.

He's on admin leave while they investigate. Thats the right thing to do. MPD are responding to this quickly to keep it from escalating. Or at least they are trying to. The death threats are already flying around Twitter.

People are making death threats on their Twitter accounts? Well that's brilliant.

Whoa. Time out. I'm simply reporting what I've read and heard from people who were actually there. I said in my post that it was copied & posted so let me explain: I am not taking sides. We clearly don't have all the info. I think the cop is an idiot. I think the girl is an idiot for not leaving when she was told to and continuing to run her mouth. These kids are not thugs. The kids who planned the event (and others that have been driving the local communities crazy recently) are not innocent, either. I am only posting reports from people who were actually there. I posted pics of tweets in the other thread, too. I agree that things likely got sensationalized. I know that some of the residents there were legit scared. Why so hostile? It's ok to see both sides here.

These kids already left the pool area and were on the sidewalk of what appears to be a residential street.

So now we are drawing guns on teenagers if they don't leave certain neighborhoods?

I'm amazed by how much small government conservatives hate freedom by supporting government being violent towards those who are "disrespectful" of them.

I thought the The flyer was done by one of the teenagers and was not done for or by HOA. Her DJ party was not approved and amount of guests went way against the rules. Most HOAs strictly limit # of guests that can be brought to pool and so far I have only read one person throwing the non HOA party actually lived in the area. It's not public area, but it owned by HOA.

One report earlier mention kids climbing over the walls to get into pool and cursing in front of young kids mans at adult as well as having sex in the pool bathroom they were trespassing in. Fights and so on. Ignoring request to leave including after first police unit got there.

It took over 9 police units to get this melee under control. One cop messing up during this process does not excuse trespassing and everything else going on by rest of them. If owners got upset at the kids it's not because of their race but their behavior and because they were acting like this while trespassing.

It's a culture problem.

Not a cop problem.

They were told to leave the neighborhood if they didn't live there.

He absolutely shouldn't have drawn his gun

The post above says it better - one cop made a big mistake. It doesn't mean the kids were innocent.

There is plenty of blame to pass around here.

Sure. But it sounds like sensationalism and gossip based on little that was on the video (assaults, pseudo-orgies, etc.). It appears that your information comes from message boards from people who may or may not have been there, yet it's presented as some inside information.
