my '24 cx-30.....not so much.

I bought a 2025 CX30 SS last summer. Loved it at first but eventually it's cons caught up with it and traded it for. CX5. It was just too cramped. It was soul red with black wheels, and was beautiful but just too small. A great car for a young and small person. But the CX30 price is pushing in CX5 territory and so one may well as just go with CX5. Both share same engine and transmission.

Be aware the CX50 is made in Mexico

I'll chime in on this because we also test drove this for our daughter. At 5' 4", I had major issues with blind spots and visibility, in general. Also, the ceiling seemed too low even for me

yep. I got mine in Sept of '24 and my wife(5'-3"-ish) has yet to drive it. Says she can't see over the dash or behind.

I bought a brand new Mazda 3 in 2017. That beautiful red color. Almost as perfect a car as you could ask for. Loved how it drove, never any problems except some of the tech stuff. Built in navigation was abysmal and a few other tech things like certain dash notices were randomly malfunctioning. Dealer suggested instead of one $800 fix, I should just put black electrician tape over that one light - since the brake was really not malfunctioning. Did that - worked fine. Just sold it in 2025 because I got old faster than the car and it began to hurt my arthritic hip to squeeze in and out. My suggestion is to get a CX5 (more midsize). I miss driving it but do like our ‘26 CRV.

I currently own two Mazda vehicles. '24 Miata RF and a '25 CX-50. Both are great drivers and the CX-50 has driving dynamics much better than anything in its class. I went with a model with the turbo and so far the only downside is that the gas mileage isn't great. Not terrible, but not great; I average around 25 MPG combined. The CX-50 usually has a great interest rate if you plan on financing it. I was going to pay cash, but got 0.9% from Mazda, so I financed it and dropped the cash into an investment. Not sure what the rates for the CX-5 look like right now.

I've owned several Mazda's over the years, they've all been better than good, some have been great. You don't have to keep up with maintenance like it's a German vehicle, but if you keep to the schedule you'll have virtually no issues. I had a Mazda 6 have a water pump go bad, that was pretty much the only problem with the four Mazda's I've owned. They've all gone over 150,000 miles, or would have. I sold a couple of them with around 125,000 on them, but they were in great shape mechanically.

I recently test drove the 2025 CX-5. Pretty nice vehicle and my only complaints were that it didn’t feel solid and the engine sounded kind of high pitched to me(if that makes sense).
My long time mechanic isn’t big on Mazda because he said it’s often hard to get parts for repairs and are expensive parts.

I still might have purchased it even with that if Metaire Mazda didn’t employ almost all young sales people and makes them try to make the sale based on lying about the invoice price. The invoice price was pretty much their whole sales tactic.

Have had 2 over the years. Then and now Mazda produces well designed and built vehicles. Honda and Toyota will have a better resell value just based on popularity.

Wife drove an '08 mazda 6, manual, until we get her a new 2016 Mazda CX5 in Dec 2015.

She still drives that daily. ~95K miles. Replaced the brakes about 10k miles ago. Otherwise, just oil and tires. 0 complaints. Great car.

Traded my BMW for a Mazda in 2011. I’ll never drive anything but Mazda again as long as they stay focused on a quality product.

We have 2 Mazda CX-5’s in my family both 2017 models.
We love em. On those models and years there is a ghost touching of the touch screen that can be handled at home.
Love the traditional auto trans (non cvt).
One of them did have a high pressure fuel pump fail. No issues with parts or terrible expense.

Wife and I both have Mazdas (2015 Mazda3 and 2018 CX5). They've been fantastic cars for the 6+ years we've had em.

And yes, that soul red is the prettiest paint job on the road. Nothing comes close.

I'm not some car nut either, I just appreciate a good ride. I would love to own American but Mazdas are as solid as they come.

Bought an MX6 new and drove it for 10 years. It was the most fun Japanese car I've owned. it had a five speed standard transmission and great pick up. I drove it longer than any other car I've ever owned. The last couple of years I owned it it started running hot. I just got rid of it.

Had an 83 Nissan, the 90 MX6, a 2000 Honda, a 2006 Toyota, a 2012 Toyota and now drive a 2025 Toyota. That's every car I've owned since my senior year in college when the 83 Sentra wagon was my first ever new car.

When I bought the 2000 Civic, right after the Mazda, I was spending most of everyday in stop and go Dallas traffic and wanted something that got great gas mileage. It got great mileage, but had an automatic transmission and the slowest pick up of any car I ever owned. I know people hated getting behind me when pulling onto the interstate. The Honda dealer I bought it from told me Honda transmissions are geared to take off slower to keep from using gas.

Got a brand new soul red CX-5 two years ago whenever the dealership was running a 0% interest special on it. Absolutely love this car everything about it is smooth and slick and it’s really fun to drive. Kind of got psyop’d into buying it, wanted a new vehicle and drove by the dealership 4 times every day and was like dang that’s a pretty good looking sporty mid sized SUV every time I drove by.

Only complaint is it’s a little tight with a backwards facing car seat but that’s the passengers problem not mine

We have a 2018 Cx9 Touring. It's never been in the shop and it has 140k miles. I will say, after test driving a Grand Highlander today, I do find that our CX9 sits a little lower to the ground and has a bit more road noise. The CX9 drives more like a car than a SUV. Not sure if that's changed with newer models.

God I miss my Miata so much. Dumbest thing I ever did was sell that car.

I've found the interiors of the CX's feel more cramped than they should. Feels like the design whiffed a bit there, tighter in some places. Not terrible vehicles, just not my choice
