SJW SWB Tried To Join Police
While in her early twenties, soon after she moved to Baton Rouge, Mayor Sharon Weston Broome tells Elle she took a shot at joining the police department.
“I applied to be a Baton Rouge police officer. I did,” she tells the magazine in a new interview. “Ultimately, I decided I didn’t want to go in that direction, but the principle behind that was that I thought and I still think that being a police officer is a high calling. It means you want to serve, to help people. We need to live up to that.”
Broome—who has called for replacing Police Chief Carl Dabadie Jr. for months—also discusses police reform efforts in the interview.
“We have begun to take some steps here; we will soon be having implicit bias training for our police officers and our BRPD police department,” she says. “Earlier this year, we adhered to best standards and practices by establishing use of force policies within our department. And we’ve also implemented a dialogue on race in our police department. That’s where we’re going to start.”
Broome is profiled in the magazine as part of its weekly series highlighting women who have run successful political campaigns. The mayor says she sometimes feels underestimated.
“I think as you pursue higher office, you begin to encounter different obstacles as a female, and those, I encountered as a female and as an African-American female,” she says. “Because let’s face it—politics, for the most part, has been pretty much a male-dominated environment. And while there are certainly men who accept women as leaders, there are still some who wonder if a woman can govern effectively, if a woman has the business acumen that’s needed to be CEO of a city. I believe that there is heightened scrutiny that exists. That’s what we deal with.”

She should feel under qualified. Dumb as a stump.

Couldn't qualify to be a cop, so lets elect her as Mayor/President.

In 2007 there was a feud between the up-and-coming rapper Soulja Boi and Hip Hop Journeyman Ice-T.
Ice-T made some likely accurate statement about SB's lack of creativity/talent, when SB retorted with,
"N****, how you gone have a raps that say frick da poh-lice, and you play a poh-lice on TV?"

Again, I have to ask.
Has this woman ever done or said ANYTHING without including race?
What a joke.

You mean like a woman that got duped by a cheap hustler applying for CAO and didn't catch it because she's "too honest" and thinks everyone is honest like her?

After I retired from the LAPD I thought about joining the BRPD. Then I woke up from that nightmare!

implicit bias training?
you cant change your implicit bias, you can only train it to recognize you may have it. Everyone has it and everyone favors their own race, it's natural.
this woman is a quack

Meant to upvote.
I also think all women have a smaller brain than a man. It's science.

And there a many fair and open minded people who look at Mayor Broome, and compare the job she is doing to her predecessors, and wonder how she got elected.
Ms. Broome, quit using race and your sex as an excuse and just do your job. Your act is getting old, really old.

This training has been the cornerstone of her police reformation plans. In her mind, when the cops stop being racist, crime will go away.

She's a one trick pony. Identity politics is what she'll play from now until 2022.

Of course, it is. The government scientist Dr. Yamuka has proved it is size of squirrel.
